Delta CNC Launch Report 1: Delta's CNC System Solution Brings Innovation to a Changing World
Delta's first Computer Numerical Control (CNC) System is ready to assist more clients in industrial control fields. Facing the competition of the global market, Delta anticipated several years ago that the needs of machine tools would enter an advanced phase. As a result, Delta decided to meet future market needs while also following the national CNC development policy of Taiwan's Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. Delta's Industrial Automation Business Unit (IABU) started cooperation with the Precision Machinery Research Development Center (PMC) four years ago to prepare and develop machine tool knowhow, product modules, innovative technology, tests and field applications. After years of effort, Delta successfully revealed its “Delta CNC System Solution” and held a grand launch on Feb. 24th to present the first CNC system developed and produced by a Taiwanese company.
For decades, Taiwan's machine tool industry has depended on foreign CNC system providers and a CNC system can makeup 30~40% of a machine tool's cost. Still, foreign CNC systems are not able to completely fulfill the needs of the machine tool industries in Taiwan and China due to users' habits and industrial needs. As a result, Delta has invested substantial human resources, high-end technology and expenditure on research and development of this CNC system. Hopefully, this will bring a great benefit to Taiwanese machine tool industries.
The general manager of Delta's IABU Mr. Simon Chang said, “We foresaw the needs of Taiwan's machine tool industries, and we have mastered the key technologies to match the different needs of various machine tools to create more value for users. Delta's CNC system will surely offer an advanced and more flexible option for Taiwan's machine tool markets.”
Delta has strength in both R&D technologies and manufacturing capabilities. With key CNC system products such as control panels, drives and axes controllers, Delta has successfully constructed a CNC solution with multiple CPUs for different controls to raise operation efficiency. Delta combines servo drives and high performance, high resolution servo motors through the latest DMCNET communication network to make this CNC solution more complete, flexible and competitive. This CNC solution possesses high-speed, high precision and high quality finish features that will enhance the speed, quality and stability of processing industries. It's a brand new option for high-speed tapping, engraving and milling processes, tooling machine manufacturing, component processing and manufacturing, and other related industries.
Mr. Chang also pointed that for the last 41 years, Delta has been dedicated to the development of energy-saving and environmentally-friendly products. With the expansion of various product lines, Delta's revenue has continued to grow, reaching around US$7 billion last year. Even though, Delta's IABU knows clearly that in current global markets, new products for new applications and markets are necessary for continuous growth and progress. Delta believes this brand new CNC system solution will bring more opportunities for both Delta and the machine tool industries in Taiwan. Delta's goal is to bring more value to the machine tool industries with its world-class core technology.
During the grand launch of Delta's CNC System Control, Delta's IABU presented more than 90 CNC system solution related products, and the event attracted over 200 guests and distribution partners. The complete product and solution presentation of the latest CNC system solution impressed the guests, who had many questions for discussion with Delta's on-site service team, and showed great willingness for further cooperation with Delta's IABU.
