As net-zero initiatives, rising electricity costs, and motor efficiency regulations continue to advance, energy efficiency has become critical to operating cost optimization and long-term competitiveness. For long-running applications such as HVAC, process cooling, water supply and drainage, and industrial water circulation, pump system efficiency and control methods directly affect system stability and operating costs. To address these challenges, YUNG TA partnered with Delta and adopted its PMa Synchronous Reluctance Motor MSI Series. This configuration integrates YUNG TA’s high-efficiency pumps with Delta’s AC motor drives and control technology. By combining high-efficiency hydraulic design, motor drive, and intelligent variable-frequency control, the system can adjust flow, head, and motor speed based on actual load demand, helping pumps run closer to the BEP and maintain efficiency across different load conditions. Delta’s MSI Series Motor combines permanent magnet and synchronous reluctance motor characteristics and delivers high efficiency, low losses, and low temperature rise. With IE4 to IE5 efficiency levels, the series is well suited for long-running, variable-load applications such as HVAC, process cooling, and circulating water systems. Compared with induction motors, MSI motors can maintain high efficiency under medium- and low-load conditions. When paired with Delta’s AC motor drives, the system can achieve the highest IES2 efficiency class. In addition, Delta integrates dedicated MSI motor parameters into its AC motor drives. With quick configuration modules and corresponding databases, motor-drive matching can be completed efficiently, reducing on-site tuning complexity. The system can also use inputs such as pressure, differential pressure, chiller signals, or cooling tower temperature differences to adjust speed based on requirements. For parallel or alternating pump operation, Delta AC motor drives and control systems can support multi-pump control, enhancing overall operating efficiency and management flexibility. Easier Installation and Replacement: With the same power rating, MSI motors can be one to two frame sizes smaller, saving installation space. They are also compatible with standard induction motor frame sizes, simplifying equipment upgrades. Pairing a Delta MSI motor with its Pump Drive MP300 Series enables a compact integrated solution with a smaller cabinet footprint and less wiring. To meet different pump application requirements, the MSI Series Motors can be paired with Delta’s Open-Loop Variable-Torque Standard Drive VP3000 Series to support commercial HVAC, wastewater treatment, and industrial utility applications.
