Delta Launches Medical Power Supplies to Stabilize Healthcare Equipment
The aging population prompts the medical market to evolve rapidly toward personalized and aesthetic medicine, leading to the growing demand for home healthcare equipment, remote health monitoring apparatus, portable devices, and aesthetic instruments. Besides, medical equipment is becoming smarter and more sophisticated thanks to the adoption of AI and the IoT. Echoing these trends, medical power supplies must continue to be upgraded by enhancing stability and efficiency. In addition, ensuring safety by meeting strict regulations is another focus for medical power supplies. To meet all these demands, Delta launches a comprehensive range of medical power solutions.
Delta has long focused on standard power development, including the medical sector. Currently, most healthcare devices are designed for patient diagnosis and treatment, so the safety of power supplies is deemed as important as stability, including conforming to rigorous criteria such as environmental adaptability and extremely low electromagnetic interference, noise, and leakage current. Leveraging the advanced power electronics technology, Delta developed a variety of medical power supplies that obtained international safety certifications, including open-frame, enclosed, and configurable power supplies and medical adapters. They are suitable for large medical equipment such as CT and MRI scanners, and also for portable devices like ventilators and oximeters.
The New MEP Series GaN Model with Higher Power Density
For compact medical equipment with limited installation space, Delta recently launched the new MEP-600A model as an extension of the MEP Series Open Frame Power Supplies. It adopts the wide band gap semiconductor GaN to achieve a smaller volume, boosted power (600W), and enhanced power density up to 26.67W/inch³, and also inherits the wide operating temperature and excellent electromagnetic compatibility of the MEP Series. With compact footprint and GaN technology, the MEP-600A allows flexible installation and enables stable operation of portable diagnostic devices, medical monitors, treatment beds and other healthcare equipment used in operating rooms and ICUs.
The MEB Series Power Up Large Medical Equipment with Small Form Factor and High Power
For medical equipment with high-power demands, Delta’s MEB Series Enclosed Power Supplies offer 500W, 750W, 1,200W, 1,500W, and 2,500W models. In addition, the MEB Series features intelligent fan speed control to lower the noise produced by medical equipment, mitigating patients’ anxiety and discomfort. Another highlight of the MEB Series is the industry-leading ultra-low leakage current, down to only 64µA. Since the human body is a conductor for electricity, current leakage may cause life-threatening harm. Hence, the low leakage current of the MEB Series ensures patient safety when using the medical equipment.
As the trend of intelligence and compact size continues to spread to the medical sector, Delta expects medical equipment to be smaller with higher power and smarter with AI functions in the future and will keep focusing on enhancing power density for its medical power supplies while developing more functions to support advanced medical equipment.
