Delta at SPS 2025: Functional Safety and Scalable Manufacturing Solutions Drive Europe’s Smart Upgrades

From November 25 to 27, Delta showcased a series of smart manufacturing solutions featuring human-machine collaboration safety at the Smart Production Solutions (SPS) exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany. Highlighted exhibits included the Delta D-Bot Robot Platform, which integrates a radar-based safety system and AI cognitive module. Delta also exhibited its Functional Safety Control and Drive Solutions, RGB-D ToF Camera DMV-TM, and Cloud-Based IIoT Solutions. The highly scalable and flexible solutions support the growth of European SMEs to address global localization challenges with smooth smart upgrades.

Michael Mayer Rosa, senior director of the Industrial Automation Business Group (IABG) at Delta Electronics EMEA, stated, “Glocalization is driving a shift toward distributed manufacturing amid the challenge of talent shortages. Manufacturers are seeking smart solutions that enhance flexibility and safety, which are the focus of Delta’s showcase this year. We leverage distributed and modular designs to ensure adaptability and scalability for both SMEs and large enterprises with strengthened human-machine safety.”

Delta’s Key Highlights at SPS 2025:

  • Delta D-Bot Robot Platform: The platform can integrate multiple systems including the Cognibot-Kit AI Cognitive Module, radar-based safety sensing, and AMR system. Its modular design enables scalability and shortens commissioning time, making it suitable for both SMEs and large enterprises.

When combined with Waveye’s radar system, which ensures reliable and real-time detection even in harsh environments compared with LiDAR, the Delta D-Bot immediately slows down or stops when operators enter within the safety zone. Meanwhile, the Cognibot-Kit enables the Delta D-Bot to interact with natural language and to auto-adjust an optimal path when the environment changes, resulting in smoother and more intuitive human-robot collaboration.

  • Functional Safety Control and Drive Solutions: The newly launched functional safety module of the Advanced IIoT Controller AX-5 Series features built-in Safety over EtherCAT (FSoE). The distributed safety protection can enhance protection of specific areas, making the AX-5 ideal for large-scale applications, including warehousing & logistics, food & beverages, packaging, and woodworking. When paired with the ASDA-A3-EP Servo System, which has obtained TÜV’s SIL3 certification and supports 13 comprehensive safety functions, the solution provides reliable safety protection.

  • RGB-D ToF Camera DMV-TM Series: Featuring a compact design, the DMV-TM Series combines high-precision 3D depth sensing with 2D imaging to enable accurate object recognition and positioning. It can be integrated with Delta’s DIAVision Machine Vision Platform to allow centralized management of application design, custom development, and peripheral integration. Supporting GenICam and GigE Vision, the DMV-TM is easy to integrate to enable environment perception and path planning of AMRs, forklifts and humanoid robots, as well as conveyor tracking and precise pick-and-place.

Drawing from years of smart manufacturing experience and on-the-ground insights in Europe, Delta turns advanced technologies into practical solutions tailored to local needs. These smart solutions support flexible and safe factories, helping businesses capture new opportunities in the dynamic landscapes of glocalization.
