To build a stronger connection with distributors from South East Asia, Delta's Industrial Automation Business Unit (IABU) held the Delta Industrial Automation South East Asia Distributor Conference 2011 on May 2-4. The IABU invited distribution partners from the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia to join this great event.
The 3-day conference took place at Delta's Taoyuan Plant 2. The IABU's managers and partners from South East Asia gathered for an initial meeting on the first day. Delta senior vice president and the IABU's general manager Mr. Simon Chang expressed his gratitude and encouragement to the distribution partners. Mr. Chang gave much credit to the partners and said, “I have confidence in you, and I'm sure our efforts together will bring a greater success in the future.” Next, the distributors shared their market strategies, operation situations and product sales for their respective area later during the day. They also shared the problems they encountered in product sales and applications with the IABU's team. Everyone participated in the discussion when the IABU product teams presented the latest products and solutions later that afternoon.
On the second day of the meeting, the IABU's Solution Center, Global Service, Sales and Marketing Communication departments gave a brief presentation to the partners. After lunch everyone visited one of the IABU's customers in Taipei. The visit and tour gave all the partners a clear idea of Delta industrial automation product applications. The day ended with a nice dinner where everyone enjoyed delicious food at a fine restaurant located on the Danshui River along with a beautiful sunset.
On the last day of the meeting, the IABU's sales team accompanied the partners to Delta's Tainan Plant. A tour of the plant was led by Dr. David Tsai, the motion system product manager of the IABU. The partners were excited to see the green building, the IABU's Computer Numerical Control (CNC) demo and the robotic machine arm demo. They were impressed by the performance of the two demos and had a technical discussion with Dr. Tsai's team. Later that day, the group went to the Emotors Technology Research Center (EMTRC) of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) to see the latest motors and related technologies. The guests had great interest in the motors and spent a delightful time at the EMTRC.
Many of the distributors from South East Asia are close friends of the IABU team, and the 3-day conference was like a reunion. Everyone enjoyed the event and look forward to meet again. Through the conference, the partnership of the IABU and its South East Asian distributors was strengthened. Delta's IABU and its partners are working together for more business opportunities in the future.
