Delta-NTHU Research Center Inaugurated for Joint Research and Talent Development

Delta and National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) have announced the inauguration of the Delta-NTHU Research Center. This research center will serve as the headquarters for industry-academia cooperation between Delta and NTHU.

Mr. Yancey Hai, chairman of Delta Group, indicated that Delta plans to invest around NT$50 million within the next five years on the development of advanced smart manufacturing technologies. The new research center will foster cooperation between the two parties through joint development projects and talent cultivation. The joint development projects will focus on new technologies and speeding up the R&D process, and participating professors and students will have the opportunity to learn about the most up-to-date products and industry trends. If students join Delta after graduation, they will also get on track more easily and quickly.

Mr. Andy Liu, the general manager of Delta's IABG, pointed out that future manufacturing will connect and integrate multiple domains, and industrial automation is only one aspect. The establishment of the Delta-NTHU Research Center will encourage more Delta business groups and units to join in further cooperation with NTHU.

Delta will also provide scholarships for talented masters' students if they participate in the Delta-NTHU joint projects. This will benefit both Delta and the students—Delta can cultivate and recruit talented employees, and the students are offered suitable jobs while studying.

NTHU Vice President Mr. Sinn-Wen Chen expressed gratitude to Delta and highlighted the importance of industry-academia cooperation considering the shortage of talent for high-end technology development in a wide range of industries. Mr. Jang-Ping Sheu, the director of the research center, indicated that cooperation with Delta has created a win-win situation for both parties and will continue to connect Delta with more NTHU professors for further joint development in various fields.
