The winning designs will be built for the public to actually see and touch the ideas behind energy-saving green living. A good example is the Delta Sunshine Elementary School which was just inaugurated in Szechuan province in April, 2011. (Please see: We Share Because We Care - Delta Sunshine Elementary School Inaugurated in Mianyang, China). The building of the school adopted the design of the winner of the 2009 Delta Cup International Solar Building Design Competition, Sunshine in Szechuan by Shandong Jianzhu University, and it has since become a green building model in China. For this year's winner Vertical Village Delta is planning to sponsor its construction near Tongli Lake in Suzhou so people can experience its creative energy-saving concepts and a carbon-free life.

The 2011 Delta Cup International Solar Building Design Competition is an annual event organized by Chinese Renewable Energy Society. The committee hopes that through competition, people all over the world will realize the importance and advantages of green buildings to our green Earth.
