Delta Controls Upgrades a Five-star Hotel into a Smart Building
Taking into account the operational requirements of comfort, safety and energy saving is one of the key factors that allows a five-star hotel to build its core competitiveness. For this reason, Jiangxi Fengxin Narada Hot Spring Hotel has introduced the Delta Controls’ ORCA building control system to help upgrade the hotel’s intelligent management. The open platform improves the efficiency of the hotel's electromechanical equipment operation through a visualized user interface, and optimizes the operation and management process. The building control system solves the hotel's challenges in energy conservation, efficiency, and manpower reduction, and creates a safe and comfortable environment for customers.
The hotel is located in Jiuxian Hot Spring Resort, with an area of 50,000 square meters, 250 guest rooms and more than 10,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor hot springs, restaurants, spa houses, conference rooms, as well as water park, fitness and entertainment facilities. The scale of this project is large with equipment scattered in multiple types of functional areas, and the requirements for building control are complex. Delta Controls’ ORCA building control system effectively conducts comprehensive monitoring and energy-saving control for the central cooling sources system, air conditioning and ventilation systems, lighting, water supply and drainage, power distribution systems, fan coil systems, and more.
The Delta Controls ORCA building control system, using the international standard communication protocol BACnet, is an open platform that achieves "centralized management with decentralized control" of the electromechanical equipment in the entire hotel, enabling overall coordinated operations. On the premise of satisfying customer comfort, the building automation system intelligently arranges the equipment operation to minimize the operating cost of the building. For example, the central cooling source system communicates with the chiller through the gateway, reads the internal data of the chiller, and executes the energy management and rotated operation of the chiller according to the customer's requirements to achieve energy savings. Besides monitoring air conditioning units, the energy-saving control strategy is adopted by heat recovery air conditioning units to enhance the efficiency and energy savings.
Not only are there energy-saving benefits, but overall, the building automation system can monitor and control the equipment of the entire building through the control program, uniformly allocating the power consumption of all equipment, optimizing the control of power loading, and effectively reducing expenses.
Delta Controls’ building control system and rich building control management experience can meet the management needs of different types of hotels, using intelligent management ways to save operating expenses and improve hotel services.
