AES-Falcon is the world’s very first automotive ethernet switch for domain backbone and zonal gateway usage with 8x 100 BASE-T1, 2x 1000 BASE-T1, and 1x 1000 BASE-T ports that offers power consumption < 8W.
The system supports 802.1AS-rev, 802.1Q VLAN (up to 256 VLAN), 802.1qci (time-based ingress policing), rate limiting, 802.1qch (cyclic queuing), 802.1qbv (forwarding and queuing), and RSTP. The Tuxera TCP/IP stack is used along with Erika OS (hard RTOS) for low latency. The system can be configured by SSH or CLI with OTA upgrade by TFTP.
In band management is handled by a Cypress Traveo MCU. The switch meets all automotive EMI/EMC requirements and operates from -40 to 850C ambient. The total switching Bandwidth is up to 11.2gbps. On board diagnostics, voltage monitoring, current monitoring, and diagnostics are implemented to meet ASIL B.
