Delta's Power Quality Solution includes the APF2000 Series, SVG2000 Series and AFE2000 Series, three kinds of Delta industrial automation products. What's the biggest difference between these three product series?

Delta's new Power Quality Solution is mainly composed of the AFE2000 Series Active Front End, APF2000 Series Active Power Filter and SVG 2000 Series Static Var Generator. Please refer to the descriptions below for further explanation.

‧APF2000: Active Power Filter
Delta's APF2000 Series is a large power filter device for real-time monitoring of three-phase current and for filtering out harmonics by providing an equally opposite phase to the affected component.

‧SVG2000: Static Var Generator
Delta's SVG2000 Series is a current type Static Var Compensator (SVC) for directly monitoring the AC power side of the current and compensating the harmonic current or the surge current that occurs at impact load.

Delta's APF2000 Series and SVG2000 Series can improve power factor and suppress harmonics. In the system structure, Delta's APF2000 Series and SVG2000 Series are connected in parallel with the power grid to configure the required amount of reactive current in real-time and compensate the reactive power to filter high order harmonics.

The APF2000 Series and SVG2000 Series can be installed at different locations of a power system for power quality improvement, especially for group control and central control applications.
-Group control: Install before a group of devices for group treatment of low voltage devices.
-Central control: Install before the system for treatment of all the devices in the power system.

The biggest difference between the APF2000 Series and the SVG2000 Series is that the APF2000 Series can filter out 2~50th order harmonics, while the SVG2000 Series can only filter out up to 13th order harmonics. Regarding compensation capability, the APF300A model of APF2000 Series can provide compensation to a maximum 300A current. However, the compensation provided by the SVG-500A63A model of the SVG2000 Series can reach up to a maximum 720A current. Thus, the APF2000 Series is suitable for applications which require high order harmonics suppression and power factor improvement. The SVG2000 Series is suitable for applications where there is harmonic current or a surge current that occurs at impact load.

‧AFE2000: Active Front End
Delta's AFE2000 Series is a controllable rectifier that uses PWM modulation to greatly reduce distinct peaks of current and form perfect sine wave current. Using the AFE2000 Series the power factor is corrected and high order harmonics are eliminated. In addition, the AFE2000 Series can replace traditional brake resistors, convert the regenerative energy into reusable electricity, and send it back to the mains to reduce total energy consumption. The AFE2000 Series is connected in serial to the grid and the loads, which differs from the APF2000 Series and SVG Series. The AFE2000 Series is suitable for applications, which need to measure the power quality for individual control and compensation.

-Individual control: Install before an individual device for treatment of a large load device.
