Delta’s Industrial Automation Business Group (IABG) participated in Automation Taipei 2026 from August 19 to 22. Celebrating its 55th anniversary, Delta showcased smart manufacturing solutions with the theme “Forward, Toward Better: AI-Empowered Digitization,” which addressed challenges including labor shortages, glocalization, and AI-driven industry transformation. Two major highlights attracted significant attention at the show: the “Embodied AI Dual-Arm Robot Platform,” capable of autonomously drawing portraits via voice commands, and the “AI-Enhanced High-Fidelity Production Line Digital Twin.” On the opening day, Delta hosted a press conference and media tour, offering an in-depth look at the technologies behind its latest innovations. Lisa Kao, general manager of Delta’s IABG, stated, “AI is driving explosive demand across industries and fueling manufacturing growth. Smart manufacturing is also a critical foundation for meeting this demand. Delta focuses on robotics, electronics, semiconductors, and machinery industries, leveraging an AI-ready smart manufacturing architecture to enable decentralized manufacturing and centralized management for agile response to evolving needs.” During the media tour, Nat Huang, general manager of Delta’s Industrial Motion Solution Business Unit, shared that robots serve as an important bridge between AI and the physical world. Delta’s “AI Robotic Control Platform” connects diverse forms of robots and AI models through a flexible integration framework, supporting Embodied AI applications across multiple industries and processes. In addition, Peter Chen, director of the Factory Automation Solution Business Division, highlighted high-fidelity digital twins as a key technology for bringing AI closer to real-world applications. Delta’s high-fidelity production line digital twin supports virtual validation before physical deployment, covering the entire process from product design and production line planning to equipment commissioning and defect inspection. The solution also supports cross-region deployment and has already been successfully implemented on AI server power supply production lines at Delta’s Thailand plant. Additionally, Delta displayed its complete IIoT product portfolio in Meeting Room 429 with a mini-game that invited visitors to discover Delta’s smart manufacturing capabilities, from automation products and integrated systems to complete solutions. During the exhibition, Delta also hosted a series of seminars, among which Delta and an NVIDIA expert shared how Delta’s AI Robot Control Platform integrates with NVIDIA’s robotics development ecosystem, covering data and synthetic data collection, model training, high-fidelity simulation, and 3D spatial perception for motion execution to accelerate the deployment of advanced technologies. Delta’s Highlights at Automation Taipei 2026 Robotics Solutions ● Embodied AI Dual-Arm Robot Platform: Powered by Delta’s AI Robotic Control Platform, this solution integrates AI with execution layers, solving pain points such as hardware-software integration challenges and the high cost of AI robots. Users can flexibly adopt diverse types of robots to embody different AI inputs, realizing flexible, multi-tasking applications. The platform enables robots to autonomously learn tasks, analyze workflows, execute and make corrections with multimodal data, making it suitable for high-mix, low-volume, multi-process applications such as AI server assembly. The platform incorporates the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin module to deliver up to 275 TOPS of AI performance. Utilizing NVIDIA Isaac ROS Nvblox and cuMotion, it creates real-time 3D environment models and dynamic obstacle avoidance. ● Cobot Pick-and-Place Solution: Delta combines its Collaborative Robot RS-C with the Electric Gripper RS-GP. By manually dragging the robotic arm, paths can be recorded without complex programming, lowering deployment barriers and increasing operational flexibility. It is suitable for machine tool loading/unloading, metal processing, polishing, painting, and AMR application and warehousing & logistics. ● Humanoid Dual-Arm Demonstration: Featuring high integration and a lightweight design, it balances high torque output, compact size, and motion precision. Lightweight joint modules are tailored for multi-degree-of-freedom applications on shoulders, elbows, wrists with a hollow-shaft design and integrated motor, driver, encoder, torque sensor, and functional safety. Patented built-in torque sensing technology measures external forces and contact torque in real-time, improving control precision, human-robot collaboration safety, and collision protection. Smart Manufacturing Solutions ● AI-Enhanced Production Line Digital Twins: This solution demonstrates co-simulation with PCB glue dispensing as an example, with integrating Delta’s Virtual Machine Development Platform DIATwin and the NVIDIA Omniverse libraries. With AI, the solution auto-generates optimal paths, validates with high-fidelity simulation, and instantly translates them into machine recipes. The mechanism completes verification virtually and shortens mass production prep cycles, which has already been successfully deployed in Delta's Thailand plant for AI server power supply lines. Industry Solutions ● AI-Enabled Human-Machine Hybrid Line: For high-end electronics assembly such as AI servers and automotive electronics, the Smart Manufacturing AI Vision Solution leverages AI to analyze manual station actions in real-time, correcting errors to reduce rework costs. Concurrently, it collects manual station data to complete production line digitization. The Smart Press Fit generates press curves with minimal samples using AI, issuing real-time warnings via micro-force detection to boost yields. The Inline Management Solution Line Manager integrates manual station and equipment data to perform cross-analysis, identify line bottlenecks and maximize line capacity and efficiency. At Automation Taipei 2026, Delta showcased a broad range of smart manufacturing solutions, from advanced technologies to practicing intelligent automation for business at different stages of digitization. Leveraging digital twins and embodied AI, Delta presented the AI-ready architecture for decentralized manufacturing and centralized management.
