Delta Automation Solutions Ensure Reliability and Efficiency for Box Forming Machinery
Delta has successfully implemented its innovative automation solutions for Tecnobox, a box forming machinery company in Spain. This project not only fortifies Tecnobox's position in a competitive market, but also set new standards in the industry for technological advancement and environmental responsibility.
Nestled in Levante, Spain, Tecnobox is renowned for its dedication to product quality, innovation, and sustainability. With only 40 employees, the company has carved a niche in manufacturing robust, low-maintenance cardboard box assembly machinery. Its products are distinguished by its commitment to replacing metal and plastic containers with biodegradable alternatives and providing exceptional service.
However, the post-pandemic environment has posed unprecedented challenges for the company. A critical component shortage threatened the continuity of Tecnobox's production, putting its market leadership at risk. At this crucial moment, the company encountered Delta, which was seeking to establish a stronger presence in the European market.
Tecnobox requested specialized control architectures tailored to two distinct machines’ unique tasks and performance metrics. The first machine, TB-Pack, achieves a production speed of 3,000 pieces per hour and optimizes the machine performance for specialized box types formation. The other machine, TBQ-Pack, shares a similar configuration with TB-Pack, but operates at an even faster pace of up to 10,000 pieces per hour. Tecnobox was seeking highly reliable systems that offer enhanced efficiency and align with the company’s dedication to innovation and sustainability. The solutions also had to be comprehensive and incorporate EtherCAT communication.
Delta stood out as the candidate most suited to meeting Tecnobox’s requirements with its full-range product offering that included the Motion Controller AX-3 Series, AC Motor Drive MS300 Series, Servo Drive ASDA-B3 Series, and HMI DOP-100 Series. In addition to the products’ exceptional performance and cost efficiency, Delta demonstrated the ability to deliver promptly and provide high-quality service.
Collaborating with its regional partner, INDA LEVANTE, Delta’s project managers and field application engineers examined Tecnobox's requirements to customize the solutions, and conducted extensive technical training sessions for Tecnobox and INDA LEVANTE. Within five months, a machine prototype that integrated Delta's advanced automation products was completed. The results were remarkable. With Delta’s solutions, Tecnobox not only overcame production hurdles, but also saved electronic materials costs by approximately 25%. The reliability and efficiency of Delta’s solutions not only met Tecnobox’s expectations, but also reinforced its market position during a critical period.
Edwin Gomez Rodriguez, Field Application Engineer of the Industrial Automation Business Group at Delta EMEA, remarked: "This project with Tecnobox not only demonstrates our capabilities in delivering efficient, cost-effective automation solutions, but also reinforces Delta’s commitment to customer satisfaction and innovation. We're proud to have played a key role in supporting Tecnobox through a challenging period. This collaboration signifies a major step towards our becoming a recognized name in the automation industry."
Delta’s steadfast commitment to innovative problem-solving and customer satisfaction, coupled with Tecnobox’s strategic market insights and operational excellence, have established a strong partnership. This success story highlights resilience and innovation, and offers the industry a compelling model for navigating a highly competitive market.
