Event Review: Delta Showcases Smart Green Building Solutions and Applications at BEX Asia 2018

Delta recently participated in the Build Eco Xpo (BEX) Asia in Singapore from September 5th to 7th. During the event, Delta highlighted a variety of industrial automation (IA) products and energy-saving smart building solutions, such as the Energy Saving Elevator Solution and Critical Building Solution, drawing the attention of many visitors.

BEX Asia is the leading fair for the green building and industrial automation industries in Asia. The 4-day event attracts professionals and experts from the smart green building field, and creates countless business opportunities through the lively interaction of 450 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors.

At the fair, Delta presented a variety of IA products and solutions for smart green building management. Highlights included:

• Energy Saving Elevator Solution: Delta presented the Energy Saving Elevator Solution with its Power Regenerative Unit REG2000 Series and Elevator Drive VFD-ED Series. The REG2000 Series replaces traditional braking resistors, converts regenerative energy into usable power, and reduces heat generation during elevator operation. The regenerative energy is sent back directly into the building's power grid with an outstanding energy-saving 95% efficiency. The Delta Elevator Drive VFD-ED Series supports both asynchronous and synchronous motors. The VFD-ED Series automatically tunes the load attached, adjusts starting torque and load compensation, and provides manual control, ensuring a comfortable riding experience. Delta's Energy Saving Elevator Solution delivers the optimal operation efficiency with the highest safety standards for both passenger and cargo elevators.

• Critical Building Solution: The complete smart building management solution integrates Delta's IA products. The Standard PLC DVP-E Series is used as the main controller. The Fan and Pump Drive CFP2000 Series controls the operation of HVAC system and pumps. The Advanced Multifunction Power Meter DPM-C530 Series is installed in the building to collect energy consumption data. The data is transmitted back to the management system via the Ethernet Switches DVS Series for real-time visualized energy consumption monitoring. Lighting and HVAC system operation can be scheduled with Delta's HMIs and controllers to avoid unnecessary energy waste as well as provide other advantages of smart green buildings.

The rapid development of the economy in Asia has elevated living standards and social consciousness. Energy-saving, smart management for buildings has become an important issue. To meet the diverse requirements and rapid changes towards green buildings, Delta presented an outstanding lineup of industrial automation products and smart solutions at BEX Asia 2018, as it continues to establish its brand and “Automation for a Changing World.”
