With “smart green manufacturing” as its theme, Delta Industrial Automation (IA) participated in the 53rd China International Pharmaceutical Machinery Exposition (CIPM) at the Qingdao International Expo Center on April 19th. Delta IA showcased its smart factory management, high speed filling process, pill sorting system, industrial energy management system and intelligent stereoscopic warehouse solutions, to meet the pharmaceutical industry's needs for green, energy-saving and smart manufacturing.

Smart Factory Management: Delta's DIAView SCADA system and manufacturing Execution System (MES), connects and manages operational processes between enterprises and factories to achieve horizontal and vertical data integration. For vertical integration, managers can place an order or issue commands by remotely accessing the cloud database in real-time for the operating status of all equipment on a production line. For horizontal integration, DIAView collects production data of multiple factories and generates a comprehensive data pool to coordinate production progress and manage inventory of all factories.
Delta's smart factory management visualizes and connects equipment data and status in real-time with cloud technology. It provides managers with a platform to monitor production, supply chains and energy management, as well as creates a transparent database and generates information from on-site equipment. This helps reduce unnecessary material and energy consumption during production and provides flexible production scheduling for smart factory management.
High-speed Filling Solution: This solution adopts Delta's motion controller DVP-15MC Series as the core control, which can control up to 24 axes and establish multiple ECAM curves. With high speed data transmission via the CANOpen protocol, it can give commands to servo drives and perform synchronous control with up to 8 axes in 4ms. This promotes efficient motion control for operating speed and positioning, and provides stable production line operation. In addition, with Delta's servo drive ASDA-A2 Series and self-developed applications for the industry, the solution provides fast synchronization of liquid filling and bottle dispensing for greatly enhanced productivity.
Energy-saving Solution: Delta's energy-saving solution integrates energy-saving equipment, system monitoring and industrial communication. With the DIAEnergie Industrial Energy Management System, the solution optimizes equipment and system efficiency by providing energy-saving management for the whole industrial infrastructure. The DIAEnergie system provides managers with real-time data of factory operation and energy consumption, which ensures the safety of operating status and energy consumption. For system control, the intelligent group control system realizes centralized control and highly automated processes. The solution benefits reduce operation costs, and increase energy-saving efficiency that leads to improved productivity.
Stereoscopic Warehouse Solution: This solution provides high efficiency operation and precise motion control for stereoscopic warehouses with the integration of Delta's Compact Modular Mid-range PLC AS300 Series, motor drives, servo drive system, industrial Ethernet switches, and the DIAEnergie Industrial Energy Management System. With DIAEnergie, customers can monitor through the inventory locater function and manage storage status and the occupancy of each inventory location. The inventory locator function helps achieve data transparency, including inventory, import/export scheduling, and others. In addition, customers can monitor a palletizer's operating status via system interfaces, and can also manually engage system maintenance and troubleshooting. Saving warehouse space and labor costs, Delta's stereoscopic warehouse solution brings more convenient and efficient management to materials monitoring and product export/ import.
