Event Review: Delta IA Showcases Six CNC Solutions at 2017 CIMT in China

Delta Industrial Automation (IA) participated in the 15th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT 2017) that took place from April 17th to the 22nd. At the fair, Delta IA showcased six CNC solutions for lathes, milling, glass cutting, high-speed surface machining, and tapping machines, drawing the attention of show attendees.

With the current trend for smart manufacturing, the machine tool industry is beginning to update equipment to pursue more efficient and reliable productivity. The solutions Delta presented at 2017 CIMT include:

Lathe Machine Solution: Delta's newly launched CNC lathe controller NC200 Series is the core control. Its embedded hardware system and high-speed communication protocols DMCNET provide high-efficiency, energy savings and stability for the solutions. The NC200 Series features a built-in user-friendly control panel and adopts Delta's exclusive high-speed communication protocol DMCNET to connect the servo drive ASDA-B2-F Series and servo motor ECM-E2M Series. Its main axis for machining can equip motor drives or ASDA-S Series servo drive to meet a variety of demands.

With built-in functions such as process route prediction and document scanning, the NC200 Series provides a more convenient user experience for industry clients, and it is your best choice for standard lathe machines and turning centers.

Milling Machine Solution: Delta's NC300 Series CNC controllers deliver high-speed, high-precision performance. Its curve fitting function provides excellent results for the milling process. When matched with ASDA-A2 Series servo drives, the NC300 Series greatly improves surface roughness of the workpiece to achieve a perfect finish.

Machining Center Solution: Delta's CNC controller NC311 Series has a built-in 10-inch control panel. When matched with the ASDA-A2 Series or ASDA-B2 Series servo drives, the NC311 Series fulfills the requirement of a feeding axis. For main axis control, motor drives or the ASDA-S Series servo drives are suitable for different applications. If users require a high-speed tapping process, Delta's permanent magnet synchronous motors can deliver up to 6000rpm tapping speed and are available for selection as well. With the outstanding CNC controller NC311 Series and motion control products, Delta provides comprehensive machining center solutions for our clients.

Delta Open CNC Solution: An open structure integrates software and hardware for CNC systems and user-friendly editing functions satisfy the demands for CNC control system customization. With Delta's new Open CNC Controller NC30E Series, users can deliver quick program design and teaching demonstration via human machine interfaces, screen or control panels. When matched with Delta's PC-Based Panel Motion Controller MP1 Series or third-party IPC software, this solution allows users to easily conduct customized machine programming with built-in PC programming tools and editing platform.

Delta's open CNC solution also integrates Delta's motion controllers and servo systems via Ethernet communication to achieve rapid and precise motion control. This solution is highly extensible and flexible, and is suitable for woodworking, lathes, grinding, spot welding, engraving, glass cutting and tapping machines.

Glass Cutting Machine Solution: Specially designed for the demands for sapphire and glass cutting, Delta's CNC tapping controller NC200A Series offers comprehensive functions to fulfill industrial demands, such as tool path offset/scaling and Z axis probe function, to provide more user-friendly and convenient CNC control solution for the glass industry.

Specular Machine Solutions: Since specular machines are generally used for processing soft and thin workpieces, Delta's CNC controllers can connect extensional tool probes for precision enhancement. When dislocation occurs to the workpiece under processing, the problem can be resolved by performing workpiece positioning via measurement to the X, Y and Y axes, which can greatly improve any workpiece deformation.

In addition, with Delta's machine vision system, CNC controllers can perform workpiece positioning detection to meet the technical standards for single-spindle, twin spindle and rotating axes operation. It also reveals outstanding performance on multi-tasking machines for high-speed surface machining, tapping and drilling.

At the fair, Delta also exhibited a variety of motion control products and system software, such as the Vertical Articulated Robot DRV70L Series, the AC Servo Drive ASDA-A3 Series, General Control Solutions, and the DIAView SCADA system for CNC machine management. Delta offers complete solutions to meet all the demands for industrial automation, and provides one-stop shopping service for our customers.

Jimmy Yiin, the Vice Chairman of Delta GreenTech (China) Co., Ltd. said, “Through years of experience in many industries, Delta has developed several CNC solutions specially designed for metal processing, such as tapping machines, specular machines, glass cutting machines, and other types of machine tools. These products have been successfully applied to many machine tools. With the CNC lathe control system NC200 Series' release to the market, Delta has entered the field of numerical control to satisfy customer demands.” Delta continues to provide customers with innovative technologies and automation for a changing world.
