Delta's IIoT Solution for Air Compressor Systems:
Optimal Efficiency via Delta DIAView SCADA Software for Remote Monitoring and Control

With the rise of the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), smart and digitalized automation solutions are spreading throughout the industrial automation industry. This automation technology trend integrates multiple network technologies that link personnel, equipment, information, processes and other factory sectors together to form a smart factory. The ultimate goal is to create a fully-automated environment where machines can communicate with each other, and operators can obtain real-time data through the cloud for analysis and remote monitoring and control.

The first step toward a smart factory is to construct a machine-to-machine network. Air compressors are some of the most commonly used equipment in a factory and are a perfect starting point for constructing a machine-to-machine network. Traditional air compressor maintenance methods rely heavily on manpower to examine each machine. There is usually more than just one air compressor in a factory and when operations run together the noise can be extreme. A high noise environment can affect both work efficiency and health.

Delta provides a one stop shopping machine-to-machine air compressors solution that uses IIoT technology. Delta offers the DIAView SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system, which is an industrial automation management platform where operators can monitor the operation status of equipment and modify parameter settings remotely according to their requirements. The DIAView SCADA system shows current alarms, historical alarms and accumulated data such as temperature, pressure, current, and operation efficiency. This information can be displayed on a curve chart, bar chart, or in a data format. In addition, the DIAView SCADA system provides alarm texting functions that automatically send a warning message to the operator's phone number when an alarm arises. This software provides easy accessibility via multiple computers where operators can access an equipment monitoring system at any location. The operator only needs to login with a project authorization code on any computer that has DIAView software installed to remotely monitor the equipment status and control operation.

The system structure consists of a high efficiency pump drive CP2000 series with built-in PLC function to obtain precise feedback from the temperature sensors, pressure sensors, power meters, and CT to ensure precise and high efficient operation. The equipment operation status and data are transmitted through the HMI DOP-B series to the 3G cloud router DX-2100 series and uploads it to the cloud. Delta's DIAView SCADA software obtains this data from the cloud and displays it to the operators in real-time. Operators can monitor the operation status in real-time and also change the air compressor settings to improve operation efficiency.

Delta's air compressor solution with DIAView SCADA software provides easily accessible and highly flexible management. Logging in with the project authorization code, the operator can remotely monitor and control the equipment operation anytime and anywhere via multiple computers. It can replace the traditional way of monitoring and control using manpower and minimizes the time spent working in a factory with a high level of noise.
