Smart Manufacturing for the Middle East:Delta Presents Smart Factory Solutions at SPS Automation Middle East 2019

Delta recently participated in the SPS Automation Middle East 2019 exhibition. To follow up on positive feedback from its debut last year, the SPS Automation Middle East was held for the second time. At the event, Delta highlighted its various industrial automation products, Smart Factory Solution, and Solar Pump Solution, attracting the attention of many visitors.

Rallying oil prices have accelerated growth of the manufacturing industry in the Middle East. The second SPS Automation Middle East focused on smart manufacturing solutions to cater to the local manufacturing and building industries' demands. Smart manufacturing has become a crucial factor in promoting business and industry development in the region. The 2-day event gathered more than 20 exhibitors, with visitors from 120 countries around the world.

During the exhibition, Delta presented a variety of industry-oriented applications. The Smart Factory Solution is targeted at assembly, testing and packaging solutions. The solution adopts Hot Swappable Mid-range PLC AH Series as master controller. The conveyor is driven by High Performance Compact Drive MH300 Series, and features a machine vision system and smart sensors that support a Delta SCARA Robot performing assembly and inspection work. Delta's AC servo drive is used for flying cut in packaging. The managed switch transmits data from the multifunction power meters and devices to the Industrial Energy Management System DIAEnergie and SCADA System DIAView. Factory managers receive the energy consumption and equipment data quickly, and can execute and adjust strategy in real-time for digitalized smart factory management.

Due to increasing oil prices, Delta introduced its Solar Pump Solution to the Middle East, hoping to utilize the abundant sunshine resources of the region to solve the price and quantity issues of electricity and oil. Implementing equipment with renewable energy also achieves Delta's “Smarter, Greener, Together” brand promise. This solution transfers the DC generated by solar panels into AC, and provides it to the Fan and Pump Drive CFP2000 Series and Fan/Pump Vector Control Drive CP2000 Series. The AC motor drives conduct pump operations. The built-in PLC features programmable logic control that flexibly adjusts operation based on weather conditions, enhancing electricity generation efficiency and saving energy.

In addition, Delta presented a complete Industrial Automation Solution integrating motion, drive, control, communication, inspection and sensing for production, along with Ethernet switches and upper level management software. SPS Automation is an iconic event for industrial automation and manufacturing industries. Delta will continue to enlarge its product offerings for smart manufacturing to meet the local demands of the Middle East, as it continues to establish its brand and “Automation for a Changing World.”
