Event Review: Delta Participates in Engimach 2017 to Showcase CNC Lathe Solution and SCARA Robots for Flexible Production

Delta participated in the 13th Engimach 2017 exhibition, which took place from December 6th to 10th in Gujarat, India. This year, Delta exhibited its CNC control solution for lathing applications, and showcased its SCARA Robot demonstrating positioning and pick-and-place operations for flexible manufacturing. The high-precision of Delta's products and solutions fulfill customer demand for high-efficiency, high-flexibility, and automated manufacturing processes, and successfully drew the attention of show attendees.

Engimach is the largest international show for the mechanical, engineering, and machine tools industries in India. Every year, many famous and compelling global corporations come to participate for business opportunities. At the show, Delta's exhibited products and solutions showcased high integration capacities and high-precision motion control. The highlighted products and solutions at Engimach 2017 include:

CNC Lathe Solution: To fulfill the industrial demands of the local Indian market, Delta adopted the Lathe Controller NC200 Series and the AC Servo System ASDA-A2 Series to simulate multi-axis positioning for the CNC lathing applications. For operation efficiency, Delta's CNC Controller NC200 Series executes multiple processing; matched with the AC Servo Drive ASDA-A2 Series. This solution provides high-precision and high-speed control capabilities for outstanding tapping and drilling processes. In addition, for CNC programming commands, Delta CNC solution offers its CNCSoft programming tools for convenient customization. Users can also monitor operating status via the human machine interface products, which are especially suitable for molding production and gantry control for enhanced production efficiency. With its high-speed and high-precision, the CNC Lathe Solution commanded the attention of attendees.

Robot Workstation: With today's changing market trends, manufacturing industries are seeking flexible production that can manufacture various products on a single production line. For flexible production, Delta exhibited its Robot Workstation that integrates the SCARA Robot to perform positioning and pick-and-place operations with a variety of bottle materials. Its outstanding performance reduces material waste during operation for enhanced yield rate. In addition, the workstation is equipped with a handheld teaching pendant, allowing operators to modify the SCARA Robot's operating processes for easy adjustment.

Hybrid Energy Saving System: Plastic materials are widely used in consumer products as well as mechanical gears. Injection molding is one of the most important techniques for plastic and rubber manufacturing. Traditional injection molding machines use oil-pressing motors for fixed-frequency operation, causing huge energy consumption along with high oil temperature, high oil consumption, and damage to the oil-pressing gears. To fulfill the demands of the plastic and rubber industry, Delta offers the Hybrid Energy Saving Solution that adopts the Hybrid Energy Saving System HES Series and the Hybrid Servo Drive VFD-VJ Series to efficiently reduce energy waste during operation. Also, the Hybrid Servo Drive controls motors to precisely adjust operating speed, precisely controlling pressure and flow in every production process. After equipping with this system, the overall energy efficiency of injection molding can save up to 60% compared with traditional oil-pumping systems, and save up to 50% to 60% in oil usage, helping customers reduce energy waste and maintenance cost, as well as increase production efficiency.

Power Quality Solution: Inverters bring about outstanding efficiency in energy saving. However, the high-frequency switching during operations easily causes electromagnetic interference to nearby devices, which results in affecting power quality and system power factors. To resolve harmonics problems, Delta offers the Power Quality Solution that adopts the following products: the Active Power Filter APF2000 Series, the Active Front End AFE2000 Series, and the Power Regenerative Unit REG2000 Series. These power quality products help real-time monitor three-phase currents for compensating harmonic waves generated during drive operation, which effectively enhances power usage efficiency. In addition, the Delta Active Front End AFE2000 Series provides power factor correction that filters harmonics for power improvement, and also offers power regeneration that brings back energy to the grid. The recycling efficiency of the regenerative energy can reach up to 95%, achieving excellent system stability and energy savings for corporations that seek to implement green manufacturing.

At the fair, Delta's automated products and solutions revealed its outstanding capabilities for various machine tools and mechanical industries, and successfully attracted around 500 visitors from around the world to visit its booth. Delta continues to provide customers in India with innovative technologies and automation for a changing world.
