Delta, a world-class provider of industrial automation solutions and a global leader in thermal and power management technology, has just showcased a broadly diversified portfolio of industrial automation products and smart factory solutions at SPS/IPC/Drives/Nuremberg 2016 from 22 to 24 November. During the exhibition, Delta highlighted future factories and smart manufacturing with presentations of a “Smart Factory and Cloud Solution” and “Integrated Factory Control and EtherNet/IP Solution” featuting its cloud and IIoT technology, as well as new advanced industrial automation products. Delta's newly launched products, such as a cloud service platform, industrial 3G cloud routers, compact drives and compact non-backplane mid-range PLCs, are able to help customers build highly efficient and automated machines and systems to achieve smart manufacturing.
Delta's leading-edge industrial automation technologies are focused on its broad spectrum of AC motor drives, AC servo drives, PLCs, industrial PCs and panel PCs, HMIs, IIoT routers and industrial Ethernet switches; products for power regeneration units, smart sensors, machine vision solutions, power meters, flow switches, and temperature controllers; as well as industrial robots and robot workstation solutions. With its key components and technologies, Delta addresses current and future manufacturing trends and it presented the following major solutions:
• Delta's Smart Factory and Cloud Solution provide a remote control and monitoring platform for real-time management of factory facilities. This solution adopts Delta's brand new Industrial 3G Cloud Routers DX-2100 Series to collect facility operation data from PLCs and industrial controllers in factories, and upload it to Delta's DIACloud internet cloud service platform for management. It allows managers and customers to acquire real-time facility operation and manufacturing execution information from worldwide factories anywhere, anytime. With high security technologies, the DIACloud ensures data safety for all users. Currently, Delta has setup DIACloud servers in 7 locations around the globe, and will have 10 more built by 2018 to serve worldwide customers.
• The Integrated Factory Control and EtherNet/IP Solution integrates the new Non-backplane Mid-range PLC AS300 Series and Hot-Swappable Mid-range PLC AH500 Series as host controllers, the SCADA System DIAView for real-time manufacturing process monitoring, and other field devices including the new Compact Drive MS300 Series, power meters and network converters that form a complete smart factory solution via EtherNet/IP communication. All equipment operation data is managed by the Industrial Panel PC PPC Series and is uploaded to Delta's internet cloud service via the new Industrial Ethernet Cloud Router DX-2300 Series for customers' real-time management. This system architecture fosters higher productivity and flexibility in a wide range of manufacturing processes with its “customer-centric” logistics management approach. In addition, the solution is constructed with EtherNet/IP for fast, stable and reliable industrial communication among facilities.
• The Conveyor Tracking Glue Dispensing Robot Workstation adopts Delta's new SCARA Robot DRS60L Series, which features an arm length of 600mm and excellent speed, repeatability, linearity and verticality. The DRS60L, matched with Delta's robot control solution and DMV2000 series machine vision system, demonstrated excellent performance when simulating the conveyor tracking glue dispensing process during the SPS exhibition and it attracted the attention of many visitors. Delta has already applied its SCARA robot solutions for conveyor tracking glue dispensing processes in its Wujiang Plant in China, which effectively reduces issues such as human error, inconsistent glue dispensing amounts, and position deviation. This robot solution is a realization of flexible manufacturing.
To fulfill the needs for future manufacturing solutions, Delta had its key new products on display that enhance the overall performance and functionality of its integrated solutions:
• For future smart manufacturing, Delta presents its brand new IIoT routers - the Industrial 3G Cloud Routers DX-2100 Series and the Industrial Ethernet Cloud Router DX-2300 Series. The DX-2100 and DX-2300 Series are able to support the DIACloud platform and DIACloud App with built-in MODBUS RTU, MODBUS ASCII and MODBUS TCP to collect data and provide transparent transmission for remote access. Both series provide reliable, safe industrial communication via 3G and Ethernet connections to protect all traffic enroute and provide SDK for integration with users' existing programs.
• Delta's new compact fanless industrial PC IPC Series and Panel PC PPC Series feature high performance with a low-consumption Intel CPU core and 4G RAM. The IPC Series and the PPC Series are embedded with the Windows 7 operating system and 64GSSD/500G HDD, perfect for running the DIAEnergie Delta Energy Management System and DIAView SCADA software for factory, building, and machine monitoring. The Panel PCs support high-resolution 15” and 19” displays and feature a die-cast aluminum alloy enclosure to suit critical industry environments.
• The Non-backplane Mid-range PLC AS300 Series is Delta's new advanced modular-design controller for automation machinery. With new 32-bit SoC (System on Chip) CPUs, the AS Series offers excellent performance with a program capacity of 40k steps/ms and support for up to 32 extension modules or max. 1,024 I/O points. It is able to control max. 8 axes via CANopen motion network / max. 6 axes via pulse control (200kHz). It also supports the EtherNet/IP and various other communication protocols for industrial applications.
• Machine Vision System DMV2000 Series supports synchronous multi-camera vision inspection. It features high speed and stable image capture and transmission, and provides visual inspection to ensure product quality and automation production efficiency when matched with industrial robots. As a widely applied system, the DMV2000 Series is now utilized on many of Delta's production lines, and it will soon be promoted to more markets.
• Delta's new MS300 series compact drives are provided in a compact design with up to 40% size reduction, and offering open loop control for both IM and PM motor. The high speed models are available with up to 1500Hz output frequency. The MS300 Series features built-in PLC, built-in brake choppers, integrated STO and support control over EtherNet/IP, perfect for Delta's integrated factory solution with EtherNet/IP communication.
• IP55 Fan/pump Drive CFP2000 Series is Delta's brand new high durability Vector Control Drive for fan and pump applications. Featuring a built-in EMC filter, DC chokes, Real-Time Clock (RTC), and BACnet, the CFP2000 Series provides the best solution for the special needs of the HVAC industry. The IP55 model features highly effective protection against dust and water in harsh environments.
Focusing on the requirements for industrial integration and system setup, Delta has introduced two new industrial software packages: ISPSoft version 3.0 for PLC programming and EIPBuilder for EtherNet/IP communication system settings. ISPSoft version 3.0 supports 5 languages, user-defined data structures, and multiple POU scan settings. This new controller programming software not only programs Delta's complete line of PLCs, but also its M300 and C2000 series AC motor drives with built-in PLC. EIPBuilder is a platform for EtherNet/IP communication system settings and connection among the automation products of Delta and other brands that support EtherNet/IP communication. It provides a user-friendly operation interface and can effectively reduce setup time for users.
For advanced machines, Delta launched the new Open CNC Solution to the European market for the first time at the trade fair. The new Open CNC Solution provides open structure hardware and software and allows user-friendly customization for CNC machine makers. It adopts Delta's new Open CNC Controller NC30EM Series, which provides programming PC tools and an editing platform for CNC machines when integrated with Delta's Motion Control Panel PAC MP1 Series or a third party value-added software on IPCs. The NC30EM Series achieves digital communication and noise suppression when matched with Delta's high speed servo motion and spindle systems. This solution provides highly flexible configuration for CNC special purpose machines and a standard operation interface to save development cost and time for CNC machine makers.
At this year's SPS, Delta's blue and white stand attracted visitors' attention and won praise and positive feedback from customers and visitors for its broad range of energy-efficient automation products and smart manufacturing solutions. Around 200 visitors came to the Delta stand to learn about its products and solutions, and discuss further cooperation. Journalists from European media outlets came to Delta's booth to collect information for news releases and interviews. Their published reports on Delta's exhibition, industrial automation products and solutions, greatly enhance Delta's brand awareness and image in the European and the Middle Eastern regions.
