Delta Electronics Introduces Highest Power Density 40W/60W 2”X 1”Industrial DC/DC Converter

Taipei, Taiwan, Dec, 2015 -- Delta Electronics, Inc., a world leader in power systems technology and manufacturing, has introduced its new S24SP series of encapsulated board-mounted DC/DC power modules in a compact (2”x1”) footprint with industry standard pinout. As latest addition to Delta's extensive encapsulated power modules, S24SP series features wide input range of 9-36VDC and 60W output power. Nominal output voltages consist of 5-, 12-, 15- or 24-Vdc, adjustable by ±10%, which can be set to match a variety of customer-specific applications.

S24SP series is designed for harsh environments such as process control and automation, data comm¬unication and telecom equipment, test equipment, or industrial, railway and healthcare markets.

S24SP series provides 40W and 60W output power, maximum power rating in the same solution size compared to other products available in the industry. The wide 4:1 input range supported by S24SP series provides designers with increased flexibility when designing based on required input power capabilities. It also allows for sourcing consistency, equipping users with a single product that can fit into multiple sockets. The outputs of the S24SP are fully isolated from the input with 1500Vdc I/O isolation voltage. With Delta's optimized component placement and innovative design topologies, efficiencies of up to 93% are achieved, higher than other products at this power rating available on the market. In addition, power modules can run in long-life applications because no tantalum capacitor is used. Standard features of S24SP series include over-current, over-voltage, over-temperature protection, input under-voltage shutdown control and positive or negative remote on/off.

All modules in S24SP series are packaged in metal case (six-side metal shielding) and potted with thermal potting material, which ensures good thermal performance and high reliability in harsh environment applications. Power modules are able to operate in a wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C (with de-rating). Optional heatsink is also available for more extreme thermal requirements.

Safety approvals for S24SP series include UL 60950-1(US and Canada) and EN50155 to be recognized recently.
