“Finding Control Talent” – Delta's 2nd Advanced Automation Design Contest is Coming

With the rapid development of automation technology in global markets, the requirement for control talent increases. To discover talented college students, Delta co-organized the Delta Advanced Automation Design Contest with Chinese government officials and educational, industrial, and academic organizations in both Taiwan and China starting in 2014. The contest is intended to inspire student interest, and develop their innovation and practical skills in industrial automation.
Delta considers industrial-academic cooperation part of the company's corporate social responsibility, and focuses on cultivating and discovering more talent for the industrial automation field. The contest encourages college students to put theory into practice through innovation and improve their implementation abilities through cooperation.

The first contest held in 2014 was a great success and received praise from government and educational organizations and participants. Delta is holding the 2nd Delta Advanced Automation Design Contest this year and will have the contest finals in July.

This year, the contest theme “Finding Control Talent” covers the field of automation, electrical engineering, industrial control, and new energy. Delta is calling for innovative automation solution designs for PID control, network communication control, and multi-axis control using Delta's automation products and technologies.

There are 157 teams from more than 72 universities in Taiwan and China that have signed up for this year's contest, and 64 teams (5 from Taiwan) have made it to the contest finals on July 28th – 31st. The contest finals will be held at Delta's Wujiang Plant again this year. The finalists, professors, and judges will have the chance to visit Delta's production base.

Through the contest, Delta hopes to enhance college students' passion for automation technologies to improve their program design and adjustment capabilities and practical skills. Delta encourages students to combine innovation, creativity, theory, and cooperation into practice, and learn more about Delta's mission of “Care for the Environment, Energy Saving, and Our Green Earth” and brand spirit “Smarter. Greener. Together.” This contest is also a platform for interaction between colleges in Taiwan and China.

For the future, Delta is planning to elevate the scale of the contest to cover all colleges in Asia. To make it more international this year, Delta has invited college students and professors from Thailand who will participate in the event next year, to join and observe the contest finals.
