Delta Achieves Fast and Efficient Automatic Toilet Paper Roll Packaging Machines

Traditional packaging processes for toilet paper rolls are time-consuming with low efficiency. They require the labor force to manually complete plastic package film cutting, heat sealing, and edge ironing for packaged products. Today, automatic toilet paper roll packaging machines can array the toilet paper rolls before entering the packaging machines, ready and pack products with plastic packaging film, and automatically finish film cutting, heat sealing, and edge ironing. The automatic packaging technology saves time and cost, and greatly enhances production efficiency.

As precise and smooth operation is essential for packaging procedures, machine makers seek a high speed and highly integrated packaging solution. Delta Industrial Automation (IA) recently provided a toilet paper roll manufacturer with a complete packaging machine solution. The solution adopts Delta's automation products, including a Human Machine Interface (HMI), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), AC Servo Drive and Motor, AC Motor Drive, and Temperature Controller, and has successfully improved the packaging quality and efficiency.

The 10.1” widescreen HMI DOP-B10S411 Series is the operation and control interface. Its Windows-based and user-friendly software allows quick editing of images and graphs, and suitable communication protocols are easily set, making the production line smarter and more flexible.

In the control system, Delta's PLC DVP-10MC Series provides a G-code editor, graph preview, and Electronic Cam (E-Cam) curve planning to help users design more complex motion control programs. It also features simple wiring, accurate control, and high speed to meet the demands of the motion control systems used on packaging machines.
To achieve multi-axis synchronous control, this solution adopted the DVP-10MC Series PLC as core control and the ASDA-A2-M Series AC servo drive, which implements a 20-bit (1,280,000 p/rev) superior resolution encoder, to provide accurate positioning and smooth control for material feeding, and plastic package film sending and cutting. This solution adopts the sensorless vector control compact drive VFD-EL Series for variable frequency control on conveyor belts for edge ironing and product delivery. During heat sealing and edge ironing, the Temperature Controller DT Series performs precise temperature control to enhance production quality and prevent over-heating situations and ensure the safe operation and duration of machines.

Delta's solution provides customers with a high speed and high efficiency control system for packaging machines. It greatly enhances production efficiency and saves time and labor costs. In the future, Delta Industrial Automation will continue to support customers in these highly competitive markets.
