Delta HVAC Solution Improves Air-conditioning Environment for Medicine Production Areas

Delta Industrial Automation (IA) has recently provided an HVAC solution for a Chinese medicine manufacturer. The manufacturer has strict requirements for their production area environment control to ensure the quality of medicine storage and management. For instance, the temperature should be maintained within 18-24°C, and humidity should be kept within 45-65%RH during production processes to assure the quality of medicine storage and management. The manufacturer also required an unattended remote monitoring system for real-time control.

To help the customer, Delta provided its HVAC solution with intelligent real-time control functions. It automatically adjusts the spinning frequency of fans and the valve openness of chillers according to indoor temperature. It also provides a comfortable indoor environment by introducing fresh outdoor air according to the CO2 density in the production area. In addition, with Delta's SCADA software, this solution achieves the client's requirement for real-time remote monitoring of the HVAC system and environment.

The HVAC solution adopts several major automation products of Delta IA, including the Human Machine Interface (HMI) DOP-B Series, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) DVP Series, Sensorless Vector Control Drive CP2000 Series (for ventilation and water pumps), Industrial Ethernet Switches DVS Series, and monitoring software (SCADA).
The DOP-B Series HMI allows users to edit program settings on full color and high resolution touch screens according to the operation environments. Users can then transmit the commands to the DVP Series PLC to control the equipment. The DVP Series has abundant extension capabilities. It can also monitor the environment and send the results back to the system to adjust the operation. The CP2000 Series operates and saves energy with the same AC motor drive approach as household air conditioners. The entire operation data is collected by DVP Series PLCs and transmitted to SCADA via the DVS Series Ethernet switches, realizing intelligent real-time monitoring and remote control.

With all equipment adopting variable frequency control, the HVAC solution helps clients achieve energy savings of up to 50% and lower operation costs. It also provides flexible and convenient time scheduling and group sequence control functions to maintain energy-efficient and smart facility operation that promises a comfortable environment in the medicine production areas. To further support the client, Delta IA provides excellent after-sales service and technical support on SCADA settings to ensure the real-time and efficient operation of the monitoring system. Delta continues to provide long distance technical support for its safe, suitable, and energy-saving solutions.
