Delta Electronics to Broaden Energy Efficiency Across EMEA
With its Latest Power Quality Solutions Unveiled at Hannover Messe 2014

Amsterdam, Apr. 03, 2014 - Delta Electronics, Inc., the leading global provider of power and thermal management solutions, brings to Hannover Messe 2014 a comprehensive portfolio of power quality solutions that enhance the energy efficiency of factories and industrial facilities. Delta's Static Var Generator SVG2000 Series, Active Power Filter APF2000 Series and Active Front End AFE2000 Series for harmonics suppression, reactive power compensation and load balance ensure the excellent power quality in different sectors and domains, such as metallurgy, metal processing, chemical, automobile industries, also buildings and data centers.

The Static Var Generator SVG2000 Series improves the power efficiency of industry, infrastructure, and commercial building. It replaces traditional phase- leading capacitors and to be installed at the power distribution systems. Its fast compensation to both leading and lagging reactive power effectively increases power factors to 0.99. The SVG2000 has special Delta power module that one unit can support a wide power range from 220V-480V or 525V-690V and the capacity is 300 kVAR or 500 kVAR.

The Active Power Filter APF2000 Series provides strong harmonic suppression to protect facilities and equipment in the factories, such as mechanical, metal processing, and automobile manufacturing. It filters 2~50th order harmonics and provides clean and sinusoidal current waveform. For system expansion, APF2000 applies parallel connection to support a wide power range from 200V-480V with capacity of 50, 100, 200 and 300 Amps.

The Active Front End AFE2000 Series is designed to use with AC motor drives for factory equipments and facilities such as machine tools, cranes, winding equipment and elevator. It suppresses total harmonic distorsion (THD) to less than 5% and improves power factor to up to 0.99. It also converts the regenerative energy from the equipment into reusable electricity with efficiency more than 95%.

Delta's Power Regenerative Unit REG2000 Series simply focuses on power regeneration and provides higher motor efficiency with braking power. It reduces the machine room temperature with outstanding energy saving results. Its compact and easy-to-install design helps machine makers to downsize the machines in order to save costs.

The APF2000 Series was recently applied in a Chinese copper smelting factory in Jiangxi, which had severe power issues caused by power grid pollution. During factory operation, these facilities generate of harmonics, causing a rise in the system voltage consumption, instable power supply and low power factor of 0.7.

The Delta APF2000 Series effectively suppressed harmonic interference, stabilized the voltage and successfully raised the power factor up to 0.95. It helped the customer to avoid governmental penalties from low power factor while increasing the safety and stability of the entire system.
