Automation Builds Competence-Delta Industrial Automation Attends Pack Plus India 2013

With the advance of transportation and information technology, industry supply chains are distributing in locations worldwide. The flat world has resulted in fierce global competition. In India, competition has pushed open the market and there is a bright future for automation which promises greater competence in manufacturing stability, efficiency, and quality.

The Pack Plus India 2013 exhibition just took place in New Delhi from Oct. 6th to 9th attracting more than 4000 visitors from around the world to explore the business of packing for food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, and many others. India's packing industry has prospered in recent years. Indian packing companies that used to purchase packing machines from Germany or Italy are now turning to Chinese and Korean suppliers. During the event, Delta demonstrated a wide spectrum of industrial automation products, from controllers, inverters, servo drives, motors, human machine interfaces, to temperature controllers suitable for packing applications in both a static and a live display.

One of the live demonstrations was a complete solution for Conveyor Assembly with Panel, which delivers high-speed, high-precision, multi-axis motion control suitable for packing applications. The miniature production conveyor assembly adopts the DVP series PLC as the main controller; the VFD-L series micro drive and the ASDA series servo drive to control the motors; the DVS series unmanaged Ethernet switches for data transmission; and the DOP series human machine interface for local management of devices.

Combining Delta's DMV series Machine Vision which can perform item counting, defect inspection, automatic assembly, and many more functions, fully elevates the solution's performance and production quality. This assembly is suitable for food packaging machines, such as horizontal packing, bottle filling, feeding, labeling, and many more.

According to market analyses, India's packing market will grow in full swing over the next few years as living standards and the demand for better product packing rise. During the four days of show, Delta's booth attracted more than 150 visitors, and demonstrated the critical nature of automation for packing companies facing competition and seeking to lead the market.
