Delta Receives 2013 China Equipment Manufacturing CSR Award

Delta Electronics has just received the 2013 China Equipment Manufacturing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award by Machinery & Electronics Business on September 25th.

Machinery & Electronics Business is the economic newsletter of the China Machinery Industry Federation, influencing electrical manufacturing companies, circulation domain, end users, research institutes, associations and universities in China. It's an important professional platform for the mechanical and electrical equipment manufacturing industries in China.
The China Equipment Manufacturing Forum and CSR Evaluation is the only annual activity that evaluates corporate social responsibility practices in China. Nearly 90 representatives from the machinery and automation industries, commerce and government attended the award ceremony.

The award ceremony was held in Beijing, and Mr. Charles Chen, the Delta China HR & Operation Division Director, received the award on behalf of Delta and delivered a speech on “Delta's corporate social responsibility for green innovation and development” during the ceremony.

Mr. Chen also shared Delta's success stories and applications on energy-saving, CO2 emission reduction, environmental protection, and the public good during the forum of “Responsibility. New Power.” He said, “Adhering to global trends, Delta invests over 5% of its revenue on environmental protection products and service annually. With the focus on power and electrical mechanism, Delta is dedicated to the mission of providing innovative, clean and energy-efficient products and solutions.”

During 2010-2012, Delta's energy-saving products and solutions successfully saved 9.3 billion kWh of electricity for global customers, equal to 500 million tones of CO2 emission reduction. In addition, Delta's global operation center and branch offices reduced 270 million kWh of electricity and reduced 34.3% of energy usage intensity (EUI) in 2012 compared with 2009. As for green building energy-savings, Delta's four green plants saved about 800 million kWh of electricity in 2012.

Following the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Sustainability Reporting Guidelines' G3 Standard, Delta said in its annual “CSR Report” that it includes CSR in its company policies in the economic, social and environmental aspects. Since 2011, Delta has been named to the Dow Jones World Index for 3 consecutive years earning full marks on “Risk & Crisis Management”, “Water Related Risk”, and “Occupational Health and Safety” and leading performance in “Codes of Conduct/Compliance/Corruption & Bribery”, “Innovation Management”, and “Labor Practice Indicators and Human Rights” in the electric equipment industry.
