Delta Electronics Thailand Wins Award for Excellence in Sustainability
High marks for climate strategy, human capital development and code of conduct helped seal Delta award
Bangkok, Thailand, February 12, 2018 – Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. has won a prestigious global distinction for its excellent sustainability performance and is the only Thai company to earn this award in the electronics category. This recognition reinforces Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL.’s position as a global sustainability leader within its industry.

RobecoSAM, a sustainability investing (SI) specialist, conducts the annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) with sustainability awards and recognitions. Delta won a bronze class distinction for a CSA score in the top 10 percent of global companies in its sector.

Created jointly by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) was launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmark and tracks the stock performance of the world's leading companies in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria. RobecoSAM publishes the Sustainability Yearbook, an annual publication that assesses the sustainability performance of the world's largest companies.

This year, Delta Electronics earned its highest scores for the company’s code of business conduct, climate strategy and human capital development, according to RobecoSAM.

“As one of the industry leaders in Thailand and the ASEAN region, Delta leverages its position as a responsible global citizen to promote the sustainable development of Thai industries,” said Mr. Hsieh Shen-yen, Delta Electronics (Thailand) President. “Awareness of sustainable business practices, energy-saving and environmental conservation paves the way for the company’s future growth. A sustainable business requires sound decisions driven not just by profit but also genuine concerns for the stakeholders and the environment.”

Mr. Aris Prepoudis, CEO of RobecoSAM, said, “I congratulate Delta Electronics (Thailand) PCL. wholeheartedly for being awarded a Bronze Class medal in The Sustainability Yearbook 2018. The companies included in the Yearbook are the world’s most sustainable companies in their industry and are moving the environmental, social and governance (ESG) needle in ways that will help us realize the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.”
