The first Taiwanese company to receive the award

Delta Electronics received the first Asia Pacific 2009 Frost and Sullivan Green Excellence Award for Corporate Leadership at an award reception on October 15th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Delta Electronics is the first Taiwanese company to receive the award. Yancey Hai, Vice Chairman and CEO of Delta Electronics, was invited to the reception to personally accept the honor and took photo with David Frigstad, Chairman of Frost and Sullivan. Delta Electronics is the only awarded company which takes photos with Frost and Sullivan's Chairman.

Aroop Zutshi, Global President & Managing Partner of Frost & Sullivan, presented the award and introduced Delta Electronics as a company recognized for its leadership in enhancing long-term sustainability by managing the environmental impact of its operations and introducing innovative and energy efficient products. Through these efforts, it is actively contributing to a culture of environmental protection and energy-savings. In addition, Delta Electronics was the world's first company to initiate a company-wide "Green Map" project that introduces sites, facilities, and accomplishments in terms of environmental friendliness and energy conservation.

At the reception Yancey Hai, Vice Chairman and CEO of Delta Electronics said, "It is an honor to be named for the 2009 Frost & Sullivan Green Excellence Award. Delta Electronics makes many products, but we are best known as the world's number one producer of power supplies and DC Fans. We play a central role in increasing the energy efficiency of the world's electronic devices and we are constantly looking for ways to save energy for all of our products. Saving energy reduces CO2 emissions and this is a key solution to the global warming crisis."

Yancey Hai pointed out that for the past hundred years, industrial development and other human activities have had a severe impact on the natural environment. With the loss of old growth forests, excessive emissions of carbon dioxide, global warming, and glacier melt, people must wake up and take action to protect the environment, save energy, and cherish our planet in all areas of our lives. We have an obligation to take better care of the Earth's environment.

The 2009 Frost & Sullivan Green Excellence Award is conducted by the internationally renowned consulting and research company, Frost & Sullivan, and is sponsored by the Wall Street Journal and CNBC. The award is presented to companies that have demonstrated significant progress in enhancing sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of their operations.
