Delta Electronics Receives Two National Innovation Awards

Taipei, October 7, 2008 -- Delta Electronics, Inc, today announced it has received two national innovation awards: the "Excellent Innovation Achievement Award," which is the highest award from the Ministry of Economic Affairs sponsored 16th Industrial Technology Advancement Awards, and the 2008 "National Invention and Creation Awards--Outstanding Contribution Award" from the Intellectual Property Office of the Taiwan government. These two national awards were presented to Delta for its innovation capabilities and management. Delta was invited to attend the "Technology Night--United Award Ceremony" on October 3rd, to accept the awards from Premier Liu Chao-shiuan of Taiwan's Executive Yuan.

On October 3rd, Taiwan's President Ma Ying-jeou also received Delta's Founder and Chairman Bruce Cheng and other winners at the presidential palace. Mr. Cheng said, "Delta's mission is ‘to provide innovative, clean and efficient energy solutions for a better tomorrow,' and we have made this an important part of our everyday operations." Delta is committed to boosting the efficiency of its products, with its power management products achieving over 90% and photovoltaic inverters over 98% energy efficiency. Delta is also active in developing concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) modules and other clean energy products, such as a full HD LED home theater projector and e-paper exhibited at the recent IFA 2008 Berlin show.

Delta is devoted to innovation and creating new products. For years, Delta spent 5%-6% of its annual revenue on R&D and systematically developing new technology and products. For the Industrial Technology Advancement Award presented by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Delta demonstrated outstanding performance on five criteria, including "Technology & Know-how Innovation", "Product & System Innovation", "Procedure Innovation", "Organization Innovation" and "Strategy Innovation".

The "National Invention and Creation Awards--Outstanding Contribution Award" presented by the Intellectual Property Office recognizes Delta's systematic management of innovation. Delta has filed a total of 6,645 patterns all over the world. A good example is fans and thermal management products, for which Delta has received over 990 patents to become a global leader in brushless fans.
