A Paradigm for Environmental Protection: Delta Electronics Receives Corporate Citizenship Award from CommonWealth Magazine

Corporate Citizenship is no longer just an ethical concept. It has become the new arena for companies in both developed and developing countries to showcase their execution capabilities. Beginning in 1997, CommonWealth Magazine added the index of Corporate Citizenship to their "Most Admired Companies" survey. Since 2007, CommonWealth Magazine has selected its "Top 50 Corporate Citizens" from listed companies and foreign companies in Taiwan along four dimensions "Corporate Governance", "Corporate Commitment", "Social Engagement" and "Environment". Delta Electronics received the Corporate Citizenship award for two consecutive years. Moreover, Delta ranked No. 1 in the "Social Engagement" and "Environment" indices.

CommonWealth Magazine announced the results of their Top 50 Corporate Citizenship awards in their April edition. Delta made remarkable progress in each index, and the panel of judges had high praise for Delta's outstanding achievements in environmental protection. Thus Delta won praise as "A Paradigm for Environmental Protection."

The ranking criteria drew on international measurements and assessments from United Nations programs, the OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), the U.S. Dow Jones Index and others. This included using a three-stage process and the four dimensions of "Corporate Governance", "Corporate Commitment", "Social Engagement" and "Environment", to select Taiwan's top corporate citizens. The survey targets were categorized into three groups, large-scale companies with sales revenues over 20 billion NTD, mid -scale companies with sales revenues under 20 billion NTD, and foreign companies. The survey period was from November 13th 2007 to January 24th 2008.
