Delta Electronics Awarded 2005 SIEMENS Communications Supplier of the Year

Delta is proud to announce it has received the 2005 SIEMENS Communications Supplier of the Year award. This is the first year that SIEMENS has presented this award in the Asia-Pacific region. In the first run of competition only 70 companies were chosen from among more than 1,000 suppliers. The chosen companies included EPSON, Fujitsu Siemens, Infineon, CISCO, DELL, Tyco and Hon-Hai.

The selection of best supplier was based on five criteria: Quality, Innovation, Global Competence, Delivery, and Services. Of all the companies evaluated, Delta Electronics scored the highest on each criterion. This achievement demonstrates Delta's dedication to providing strong innovation capabilities and high quality of service to its customers. Delta's CTO, Mr. Sam Liang, attended the award ceremony in Singapore and received the trophy from Heinko Juritz, the Senior Vice President of Strategic Purchasing at SIEMENS. The attendees also included Chief Purchasing Officer of SIEMENS, Mr. Dresp, as well as the German ambassador to Singapore.

SIEMENS Communications is making changes in its supply chain management, shifting weight to suppliers in the Asia-Pacific region. Recently SIEMENS Communications established International Procurement Offices and branch offices both in Singapore and in India. The three business divisions of SIEMENS Communications: Enterprise Solutions and Services, Carrier Networks and Services, and Wireless Modules, are expected to substantially expand their procurement volume in the future. For 2006, Delta Electronics has the potential to increase its business with SEIMENS up to ten times compared with 2005.
