Delta Wins CommonWealth Magazine's Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2016

Taipei, Taiwan, August 30th, 2016 – Delta Electronics, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, has won CommonWealth Magazine's Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2016. Delta Founder and Honorary Chairman Bruce Cheng received the honor at the ceremony held today. Delta was recognized for its leadership and long term focus on global warming, social contributions, promoting the benefits of green buildings, and environmental education. During the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) Delta was proactive in hosting the Delta21@COP21 sustainability campaign, an initiative that included a green building exhibition and a series of influential side events that shared Delta's building 21 green buildings' experience, and widened its positive impact.

Upon receiving the award, Mr. Cheng congratulated CommonWealth Magazine on the 10th anniversary of its Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility Award and expressed gratitude to the jury for their recognition. He remarked, “We began attending the UN Climate Change Conferences (COP) in 2007 and gained several years of experience. In 2014, we organized side events during COP20 in Lima, Peru, and introduced the green building Delta donated to the Namasia Elementary School in southern Taiwan and its environmental benefits to an international audience. During the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) we were proactive in hosting the Delta21@COP21 sustainability campaign, which included a green building exhibition and a series of important side events. The global warming phenomenon is becoming more severe. As a world-class corporate citizen, Delta is calling for greater public awareness and early action to ensure the future of environmental sustainability.

In June, Delta brought concepts from its Delta21@COP21 Exhibition and displayed the winning projects of the Delta Cup International Solar Building Design Competition in Beijing, China. This September, Delta will relaunch the Delta Green Building Exhibition at the Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Taipei, Taiwan, with a special focus on intelligent building design, energy-saving technologies and techniques to retrofit existing buildings into green buildings. Delta looks forward to focusing the public's attention on green buildings at this event.

For corporate social responsibility, Delta values environmental protection and energy savings as well as education. Delta has launched an online open learning platform, DeltaMOOCx, and invited many top lecturers to use online technology to share their knowledge and provide more learning resources for students. Over the past three years, it has provided basic high school programs in mathematics, physics, the biosciences and more. To date, DeltaMOOCx has created 1,500 learning videos, and has been browsed by over 450,000 people and reached 112 partner schools. Delta invites all students to make use of this open learning platform.
