Delta Provides Quick DC & AC EV Charging Solutions to BMW Importer Taiwan Pan German Motors Ltd. for EV Charging Installation at TAIPEI 101

TAIPEI, Taiwan, April 20, 2017 – Delta, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, announced today its EV (electric vehicle) Charging Solutions have been integrated into the parking lot of the TAIPEI 101 building as part of the growing EV charging network across Taipei City of BMW Importer Taiwan Pan German Motors Ltd. (PGM). The installation includes Delta's 50kW DC Quick EV Charger, capable of charging 80% of a BMW i3 EV battery in less than 40 minutes, as well as compact AC EVSE (EV Supply Equipment) units. This new EV charging site at TAIPEI 101, available to all SAE DC (CCS1 Combo) and SAE J1772 AC (Type 1) compliant EVs, complements BMW Taiwan and PGM's donation of EV charging infrastructure to 20 public parking lots across Taipei City, completed last month and also featuring Delta's state-of-the-art technology.

The installation at TAIPEI 101 includes one Delta 50kW DC Quick EV Charger and five Delta AC EVSE units. The former, capable of charging 80% of a BMW i3 EV with 33kWh battery in less than 40 minutes, boasts leading energy conversion of up to 94%, user-friendly qualities such as RFID card reader for user authentication and a 12'' TFT-LCD panel, network connectivity (OCPP or proprietary protocol), as well as a durable IP55 / IK10-rated (vandal-proof) casing. The compact AC EVSE units offer an ergonomic design, up to 7kW power output, RFID card reader, IP55 / IK08 ingress vandal-proof protection standards and the same network connectivity.

Drivers of all SAE DC (CCS1 Combo) and SAE J1772 AC (Type 1) compliant EVs will be able to access this new charging site at TAIPEI 101 and the other 40 AC chargers donated to the Taipei City Government by BMW Importer Taiwan Pan German Motors Ltd. The latter installation, also based on Delta's AC EVSEs and distributed over 20 public parking lots across Taipei City, was successfully completed in March.
