Delta Group Contributes to a Better Tomorrow Through Its Latest Sustainability Achievements
Delta products and solutions save 11.9 billion kWh of electricity in 4 years and help reduce carbon emissions by 6.38 million tons
Amsterdam, Apr. 8, 2014 - Delta Group, the leading global provider of power and thermal management solutions, today announced its latest sustainability milestones at Hannover Messe 2014. From 2010 to 2013, Delta's energy-efficient products and solutions have delivered total savings of 11.9 billion kWh of electricity which equals to a reduction of carbon emission by 6.38 million tons or roughly 3 times the annual carbon footprint of Iceland. In 2013, the electricity intensity of Delta's operation sites decreased 40.4% (base year: 2009) and the 11 green buildings built by Delta (own plants and donated facilities) contributed to energy savings of 11.63 mn kWh under the Energy Use Intensity (EUI) standards. These figures confirm our dedication to sustainability by enabling prime energy conservation.
Chairman Yancey Hai highlighted, "Delta's corporate mission –To provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow– inspired us to become a total solutions provider. As of last year, close to one hundred energy-efficient solutions have been successfully implemented by Delta around the globe in fields such as industrial automation, data centers, renewable energy and green buildings. In general, these solutions deliver up to 20%~40% energy savings to our customers given our core expertise in power electronics". Delta EMEA's President & GM, Jackie Chang, said, "2013 was a year of remarkable success in regards to our ability to cooperate with our partners and customers throughout the entire EMEA region. Delta's industrial automation solutions were implemented at a plating production line in Turkey, at a shipbuilding factory in the UK, at a biomass plant in Italy and at a packaging plant in The Netherlands; our mission critical infrastructure solutions helped provide reliable backup power to an airport in Poland and to a railway operator in Russia; Delta's telecom power solutions were successfully installed in Africa; our renewable energy solutions delivered prime energy conversion to solar parks in Germany while our intelligent lighting solutions brought significant energy savings to the facilities of a leading telecom carrier in Spain. Our cutting-edge technology and the strong synergies we have developed with our partners are the pillars in which our long-term growth in EMEA is cemented". Delta's commitment to sustainability received remarkable recognition in 2013. For the 3rd consecutive year, Delta was selected as a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes – DJSI World Index. In addition, IR Magazine awarded Delta with The Best Sustainability Practices Award and The Best Investor Relations by a CEO/President Award. Also, Interbrand selected Delta as one of the Best Taiwan Global Brands for the 3rd consecutive year while estimating a 17% annual increase in Delta's brand value. Delta Group has sponsored a team from National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) that will compete at the 2014 Solar Decathlon Europe in Versailles, France.
