Taipei, Taiwan, January 16, 2006 – Delta Electronics Foundation has officially sponsored a new "Natural Capitalism and Industrial Development" curriculum at the Graduate Institute of Business Administration, National Taiwan University (NTU). At today's special ceremony, Mr. Bruce Cheng, the chairperson of Delta Electronics Foundation, presented a banner of sponsorship to Professor Wun-Hwa Chen, the chairperson of the Institute. Mr. Cheng pointed out that as environmental issues become more important, it is essential that schools provide the relevant resources. He also mentioned that this is a good start for Delta's cooperation with NTU, the most admired university in Taiwan.

In attendance by videoconference at the ceremony was Dr. Amory Lovins, the author of the book "Natural Capitalism." Mr. Bruce Cheng spoke of his wholehearted agreement with the views expressed in "Natural Capitalism." He thanked Dr. Lovins and said, "Businessmen must wake up, and your book is giving us the call." Mr. Cheng also talked about many new business opportunities in utilizing natural resources in an environmentally friendly way.

Dr. Amory Lovins thanked Delta Electronics Foundation for its promotion of "Natural Capitalism" in Taiwan and other parts of the world. Dr. Lovins recounted that during the Industrial Revolution when the population was small and there were abundant natural resources, the aim was to raise manpower efficiency and invest in human capital. However, with the growth of the world's population and decline of natural resources, it is necessary to invest in and raise the efficiency of natural resources.

Students from NTU's EMBA, IMBA and MBA programs and graduate students in the engineering departments are encouraged to take this new course. In addition, Dr. Amory Lovins is the featured speaker at the upcoming Natural Capitalism Forum to be held at the Far Eastern Plaza Hotel on February 7, 2006.
