Delta Offers Advanced LED Drivers for LED Street Lights
A street light is a beacon of safety for drivers and pedestrians at night. Over the past two decades, the way to illuminate a street light has progressed from HID (high-intensity discharge) to the rising LED technology. To ensure the stable operation of LED street lights for road safety, installing a reliable power supply is one of the essential steps. Delta provides various advanced LED drivers for street lights, allowing road users to travel with ease at night.
Achieving energy efficiency, durability, and low maintenance in an LED lighting fixture is contingent upon selecting a suitable power supply for its required power demands. Delta has over a decade of experience with these requirements, including brightness, durability, and voltage for various LED applications.
For instance, the LED street lights require LED drivers to be highly durable and protective to extend the service time for long-term operation in outdoor environments, facing temperature fluctuation, humidity, lightning and more.
To light up LED street lights safely and stably, Delta offers the EUCI and the USCI Series LED drivers, both feature - 40°C to 55°C operating temperature to endure sharp temperature fluctuations. Their 6kV/10kW surge protection allows them to be free from lightning damage. For durability, the two Series have 50,000 to 100,000 hours of service time to reduce downtime costs. With 94% energy conversion efficiency, they effectively save power for LED street lights.
In addition, the brightness, color temperature, and other factors for street lights have to be adjusted based on area classification and road planning, meaning the power output for LED street lights differs. For urban roads lighting, which requires lower power, Delta provides the 22-55W LED drivers; as for expressways and highways that demand high-power lighting, the models covering 75 - 200W range are ready to meet the requirement.
The rising concept of smart city leads to the implementation of smart lighting applications. Echoing the trend, the EUCI Series is compatible with the DALI-2 & D4i communication protocol to simplify the wiring and installation for LED streetlights, while enabling remote control and monitoring. The Series also features NFC wireless programming to adjust current output for LED lighting via the NFC interface without consuming additional power. Besides, its smart timer function allows automatic dimming under various scenarios, and the Constant Lumen Output (CLO) maintains a consistent brightness level, enhancing safety for road users.
As AI is becoming widespread, Delta is seeing more possibilities of AI applications in lighting, such as voice control, automated scene adjustment for a smarter, “brighter” future.
