Delta’s Drive System Brings Precision High Power Motion Control to the Next Level

Automation and digitization has become an inevitable trend for manufacturers, and high power equipment is no exception. Integrating a complete suite for motion control, including Delta Heavy Duty Vector Control Drive CH2000 Series, High Power Servo Motor MSJ Series, EtherCAT module and motion control card, this solution highlights Delta’s competence in system integration.



The Motion Control Drive System focuses on 15-80 kW to deliver an output torque ranging from 48N to 520N at 1500 RPM/17 bit. For applications with fixed length and distance, such as punching machines, flying saw machines, conveyors, winding machines, and injection molding machines, the system not only delivers outstanding performance in motion control, but also ensures system stability with complete integration.

Delta’s motor control algorithms play a key role in precise positioning of the system, which supports various modes including CSP, CST, and HM modes. Combined with high resolution encoders, the torque ripple can be limited within ±1.6% even at low frequency. In addition, the automatic gain tuning smooths the process of motion control.



Its advantages are well illustrated with the example of centrifuges in the healthcare industry. The drive system for centrifuges must be able to bear heavy loads while still maintaining high precision with rigorous limits of torque ripple—if the pulsation exceeds the standard, all efforts are wasted. Delta’s Motion Control Drive System is able to provide the precision at  one pulse, which explains why the system is an ideal choice for CT Scan Machines, large analyzers, and rotary grinding machines.

The system can identify applied motor models to acquire relevant parameters and optimal control strategies, allowing optimization of the motor even without any effort from personnel.
