How do I set up the communication method for Delta’s laser displacement sensor?


1.  Please connect Delta’s laser displacement sensors (LDS) to computers via Modbus RTU RS-485. A USB-RS485 converter may be necessary for your computer.

 
2.  Download the software “Laser Displacement PC operation interface” from Delta’s download center.
3.  Run the file Delta_LDS_UI.exe and set up the communication port, baud rate, and protocol.

The following is an example of the communication setting: COM10; 115200; 8,N,1/2.
Look up the COM port from the Device Manager.
 

If you are not sure about the communication type, please click the tab CommunicationScan and select the COM port of your computer.

 
4.  Click Connect for connection and you can start to set up parameters for the LDS.
