Yes, the motors may be damaged due to over current. When the rated current of the AC motor drive is larger than the motor, the protection level is also higher. If the load increases or a motor jam occurs, the rise in current may damage the motor. A user can modify the Over-torque Detection parameters to adjust the current level, time, and action to protect the motor.
