When turning off the power to an AC motor drive, why am I required to wait until the signal light is totally off before I begin wiring?High voltage power can remain inside capacitors for a period of time after the AC motor drive is turned off. For a 220V AC motor drive model, the remaining DC voltage could reach up to 310V. You are recommended to wait until the drive power signal light is off or when the DC voltage goes lower than 25 Vdc before you start wiring. This ensures the safety of personnel and prevents short circuits or sparks.
