Delta Industrial Automation Improves Stability of Scrap Paper Recycling Systems

Automatic scrap paper recycling systems are important for industries such as printing, packaging and paper making. The systems provide an economic and effective way to recycle scrap paper, lower dust pollution caused during operation, and save operation manpower and costs.

In the Netherlands, Delta Industrial Automation cooperated with a system integrator to deliver a stable and user-friendly drive and control system for a scrap paper recycling system. The system automatically collects scrap paper strips and dust from printing and paper cutting machines located in different areas. The collected paper strips and dust are then sucked into a system pipeline and moved to a filtration area to separate the paper strips and dust. Dust is sent to the end of the pipeline for disposal while paper strips are pressed into bales and reused for factory heating to reduce operation costs and energy consumption of the heating system.

To enhance the stability and flexibility of this automatic recycling system, Delta provides several key components for control and drive, including:

- High Performance Mid-range Programmable Logistic Controller (PLC) AH500 Series works as a system master controller to manage the recycling process and schedule. The AH500 Series utilizes a dual-core multi-tasking processor to enable a rapid program execution speed of 0.3ms/1k steps. It also supports max. 100m between two local extension racks to enhance system flexibility, and improves maintainability with a hot-swapping function.

- General Field Oriented Control Drive C2000 Series provides drive to the ventilator in the recycling system to convey scrapped materials. The Delta C2000 series features a built-in safe stop function and a brake unit improves system safety. Its enhanced protection design also delivers stable operation under various ambient conditions

- High Color, High Resolution Human Machine Interface DOP-B Series supports USB Client and Host for high-speed data transfer and direct connection to disk, printer, mouse and keypad. The DOP-B series provides a user-friendly human machine interface to facilitate daily operations.
