For a green building, energy-saving is key element. To meet the requirements and standards of green building construction, Delta's IABU recently launched a permanent energy-saving building automation system which includes the four important elements mentioned above: an energy consumption management system, an indoor environment control system, a water recycling system and an environmental protection system. ．Energy Consumption Management System:
This system applies Delta's high-stability PLC as a control core with industrial HMIs and AC motor drives. With the support of Delta's AC motor drives, this system is able to precisely and rapidly gather data on electricity consumption, office temperature, moisture, the concentration of carbon dioxide, outdoor temperature, outdoor lighting, indoor lighting, and more. With this practical data, the Energy Consumption Management System properly adjusts air-conditioning, cold water temperature, cooling water temperature, ventilation and lighting to efficiently reduce power consumption. This system also finds application with wind power regenerators or solar power regenerators to bring benefits to users.
．Indoor Environment Control:
This system uses Delta's intelligent HMI and PLC to control the indoor environment according to people's needs, such as for work, meetings, presentations, reading, working out, swimming, dancing, sleeping, and entertainment. The system detects indoor activities and automatically selects the best mode to provide a comfortable, energy-saving indoor environment.
．Water Management System:
Water solution management required for buildings is not as complicated, and is mainly for monitoring water tank storage and water flow and controlling water supply pumps. Using Delta's AC motor drive with built-in PLC functions, the water usage data is easily acquired and rapidly transmitted by Delta's HMI. This system manages building water supply properly to reduce unnecessary water consumption.
．Environmental Protection System:
One of the main function for green buildings is to minimize a building's damage to the environment through permanent energy-saving features. A qualified green building provides people with natural features such as the ecosystems of plants, trees and ponds. Delta's environmental protection system includes intelligent HMIs and PLCs. The system collects data on the current status of ecological woods and sunshine reflection rates, water storage, temperatures, and the amount of dissolved oxygen in the pool. Delta's AC motor drives control the valves and pumps of the water supply system to maintain the ecology of the environment and the diversity of life around the building.
