In early 2023, Delta was honored for the second consecutive year as one of the Top 100 Global Innovators™ (2023) by Clarivate for its superior innovation and patent intellectual property portfolio. As of the end of 2022, the total number of patents approved for Delta exceeded 15,000 mainly in the United States, mainland China, Taiwan, Europe, of which 1,070 patents where approved in 2022 alone.
With global leadership in power efficiency, Delta has been the world’s No. 1 switching power supplies provider since 2002 and further extended its leadership beyond the traditional server power supplies to other industry sectors, such as solar PV inverters, with efficiency up to 99.2% and rectifiers for telecommunications applications, with not only efficiency up to 98.0% but also the best-in-class 56.8W/in³ power density. Furthermore, our Norway-based subsidiary Eltek (acquired in 2015) launched the Rectiverter, the world’s first bi-directional power conversion module with efficiency up to 96% in 2016, which helped it receive the prestigious innovation award from The Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises.
Delta has also continuously enhanced its competitive edge in the display field. By leveraging its state-of-the-art display technologies and the decades-long expertise of its associate company Digital Projection International, we have developed the world’s first 25,000-lumen 8K DLP® laser projector, capable of displaying earth-breaking images with a resolution of more than 33 megapixels. The Digital Projection INSIGHT 8K projector was launched in 2018 through the world’s most prominent tradeshows in the display field: Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) in the Netherlands, the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show in the USA, as well as SInfoComm in China and the USA. At ISE 2019, it was recognized as the most innovative display product, with the InAvation Awards.
The Company’s evolution into a branded solutions provider has proven to be a well-regarded by prestigious stakeholders. In 2020, for example, Delta was recognized as one of Taiwan’s Top 25 global brands by Interbrand for the 10th consecutive year. The 2016 PwC Global Innovation 1000 Survey included Delta as one of the 300 most innovative companies in the world. In addition, close to 70% of our shareholders are foreign institutional investors, a leading ratio among listed firms in the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
For two years in a row, Delta has received the Taiwan Stock Exchange's Corporate Governance Assessment Award, ranking it among the top 5% of listed companies. The award once again acknowledges our efforts in meeting its goals in regards to corporate governance such as maximizing shareholders’ equity, strengthening the board of directors' functions, as well as improving information transparency, and corporate social responsibility.

Delta’s EV Charging Solutions are also being deployed in all key markets. Remarkable projects around the globe include the currently growing EV charging network in Europe featuring Delta’s 150kW DC Ultra-Fast EV Chargers (capable of charging 4 cars simultaneously) and 50kW DC Quick EV Chargers; a set of smart-grid-capable AC EV Supply Equipment (EVSE) developed in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Energy and DTE Energy and installed at the MGM Grand hotel in Detroit, USA; as well as the recent donation of Delta’s AC EVSE by BMW to 20 public parking lots owned by the Taipei City Government.
In 2018, Delta completed the installation of a smart LED street lighting system in Jakarta which consists of more than 20,000 street lights equipped with wireless networking functions. Through remote monitoring, maintenance management, and lighting control functions, Delta’s LED smart street light management platform saves on electricity consumption by at least 48% when compared to traditional high-pressure sodium lamps. The wireless network connection function allows the street lights to become a solid backbone of smart cities.
In 2021, Delta joined RE100, a global initiative bringing together the world’s most influential businesses that entails the commitment of 100% renewable energy use and carbon neutrality in their global operations. With the aforementioned pledge, Delta became the first high-tech company in Taiwan to target the RE100 goal by 2030.
Analysis from the International Energy Agency states that energy efficiency is likely the most significant contributor to the mankind’s greenhouse emissions goal and maintaining global temperatures from rising within 2°C. From 2010 to 2021, our high-efficiency products and solutions have helped our global customers save approximately 35.9 billion kWh of electricity which is equivalent to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by over 19.01 million tons.
Delta has completed the carbon footprint inventory and verification of several Business-to-Business (B2B) products based on the PAS 2050 Product Carbon Footprint Standards issued by the British Standards Institution (BSI), including notebook adaptors, PV inverters and DC fans.
Furthermore, we have taken the promotion of energy conservation way beyond our original dreams by promoting these efforts at the world stage. Under founder Bruce Cheng’s leadership, Delta shared its dedication to corporate responsibility, carbon reduction and green buildings experience via the “Delta21@COP21” exhibition at the 2015 UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) in Paris, France. During this event, Delta showcased the 20-plus green buildings it has built over the past decade, and hosted forum discussions with UN members, government authorities, sustainability experts and global leaders. We also issued a specific “Plan of Action on Climate Change” to explain in detail our commitment to a low-carbon future.
Our founder’s inspiration in regards to the benefits of green buildings to all stakeholders guided Delta to become an influential advocate of the green building concept. From 2006 to 2022, Delta has contributed to the creation of more than 30 green buildings, some of them part of Delta’s operation facilities, some of them donated to academic institutions. The crown jewel of our green buildings is our headquarters for the Americas region, located in Fremont, Ca., USA. This ultra-modern facility utilizes a ground source heat pump system for cooling/heating throughout the year, which helps reduce HVAC-related electricity consumption by nearly 60%. This heat pump system, a 616KW solar PV system on the rooftop, 518kW solar PV carport system, and other energy-saving solutions developed by Delta, helped this building achieve the LEED Platinum certification issued by the US Green Building Council.
After our successful participation at COP21, we replicated our green building exhibition in Beijing and Taipei to share our endeavours and our success in the Paris climate conference with more stakeholders. In Beijing, Delta went further by combining its international energy conservation experience with local practices, echoing China's goal to reduce carbon dioxide output to 60-65% of its 2005 emissions per GDP. During the 13 days of the exhibition, Delta received over 10,000 visitors with visits from over 100 media outlets. Right before the exhibition in Taipei, we issued “Building Green with Delta”, a book with 12 green building videos to further inspire the public’s awareness in regards to green buildings.
Our human capital is essential for Delta’s success. In recent years, the Company has redistributed more than 10% of its profits for bonuses to maintain our competitive edge on the job market as well as show our commitment to retaining talent. This has helped the Company get listed in the “Taiwan High Compensation 100 Index” published by the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
In sum, Delta’s CSR-embedded business model, clearly stated through our corporate mission, is the cornerstone of our business management practices, product design, daily operations and our social contribution that seek to sustainability for mankind while seeking long-term growth for the company.
