Delta's Subsidiary, Eltek, Launches the Rectiverter, a Revolutionary Technology in Power Electronics

Taipei, Taiwan, February 3rd, 2016 – Delta, a global leader in power and thermal management solutions, announced today its Norway-based subsidiary, Eltek, has officially launched the Rectiverter, a revolutionary bi-directional power conversion module combining the functions of a rectifier, an inverter and a static transfer switch in one single module. The Rectiverter, which features energy conversion efficiency of 96% in mains mode and 94% when operating as an inverter, enables a game-changing simplified conversion mechanism capable of lowering total costs of ownership of solutions providing both AC and DC power to critical loads in telecom, data center and industrial applications.

Victor Cheng, Vice President and General Manager of Power System Business Group, Delta, said, “Eltek is an essential element of Delta's long-term success in power solutions given its expertise and strong track record in power electronics for the telecom industry. The Rectiverter is a game-changing technology that will improve the energy efficiency, productivity and reliability of our customers' power systems in a vast range of applications”.

Mr. Morten Schoyen, chief marketing officer of Eltek highlighted, “The Rectiverter is the first new technology development in modular power conversion for several years and it's a big step into more efficient and more reliable power infrastructure. It is a product that fits in well in applications where we today use rectifiers and inverters separately, and will open doors to new exciting opportunities”.

Combining a rectifier, which converts AC to DC, and an inverter, which converts DC to AC into one box, simplifies the complexity of power systems, reduces system size and improves overall system reliability. The ultimate outcome of these benefits is a meaningful reduction on total cost of ownership over the product lifetime.

The Rectiverter HE, delivers 230V/1500W AC and 48V/1200W DC with total capacity of one module of 2000 VA (AC and DC combined). It is available in single phase or in 3-phase topologies with energy conversion efficiency of 96% in mains mode and 94% when operating as an inverter. Through its modular and flexible design, it can be scaled to meet any power demand in a wide range of applications such as telecom power systems, uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) and industrial power infrastructure.
