Event Review: Delta Features Advanced and Intelligent Solutions at Advanced Factories 2019

Delta exhibited automation products and solutions for the Spanish and European market at Advanced Factories 2019 (AF), which was held in Barcelona from April 9-11. In response to the demand for high end motion control equipment, Delta displayed its latest CODESYS motion controller solution and recently launched PLC-Based Motion Controller DXMC series. For smart green factories, Delta's energy-saving and management solutions integrated Delta's automation products and DIAEnergie energy management system for factory facilities to achieve high energy efficiency and real-time monitoring of power usage. Delta also highlighted its new Industrial 4G/WAN Cloud Router DX series along with other Ethernet switches for IIoT and data exchange among machines.

Delta exhibited the following products and solutions for the European Market:

• Energy Saving & Management Solutions: The distribution and management of power consumption is an important part of a factory's production line process. For manufacturers it is often challenging to effectively monitor real-time and past energy consumption data. Delta uses power meters to detect the power consumption of each individual system and uploads it to the DIAEnergie Industrial Energy Management System (IEMS) to visualize equipment energy consumption data inside the factory. Managers can easily access key energy-consuming equipment through remote monitoring to improve energy efficiency. In addition, energy-saving automation products are implemented into key energy-consuming factory systems such as elevators, HVAC and Air compressor engines to reduce equipment load and power usage. For example, once installed in the system, the Integrated Elevator Drive IED combines both control and drive to achieve a smooth and comfortable ride. The Power Regenerative Unit REG2000 converts potential energy that is rerouted back into the electrical systems, improving energy efficiency. Delta has developed special AC Motor Drives for pumps and air-conditioning systems dedicated to improving efficiency, ranging from individual equipment systems to energy-saving solutions for the whole factory system.

• Motion Control Solution with CODESYS: The CODESYS control development system complies with the IEC61131-3 standard, which is the most widely used integrated development software for mechanical equipment manufacturers. Delta cooperates with CODESYS, to apply the CODESYS motion control platform to Delta automation products, such as the PLC-Based Motion Controller DXMC Series and PC-Based Motion Controller. By including servo drive systems, inverters and other peripheral devices, development time and costs are significantly reduced.

For machine-to-machine data exchange Delta exhibited a series of Ethernet switch products, including the latest Industrial 4G/WAN Cloud Router DX series. Its high-speed wireless communication packet transmission speed can reach up to 2100MHz and by supporting DIACloud cloud management platform, no ISP public IP address is required. It also supports a variety of communication protocols, including ModbusTCP, Modbus ASCII/RTU, and others, and can configure external DO/DI, which can be used to disconnect from the cloud router and alarms.
