Event Review: Delta Showcases High Performance Products and Solutions for the Green Energy and IA Industries at All-Energy Exhibition 2018

Delta joined the All-Energy Exhibition and Conference (All-Energy) from October 3rd to 4th at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Center in Melbourne, Australia. During the event, Delta presented a variety of products and solutions, including its latest Automatic Manufacturing Conveyor Solution, Green Energy and Storage Devices, Smart Lighting System, and more. One of the highlights was the Automatic Manufacturing Conveyor Solution, which integrates multiple Delta industrial automation (IA) products to showcase a complete conveyor system for all industries. With its precise control, excellent drive performance, and strong integration capability, the live demo succeeded in presenting Delta's leading research capabilities and attracted many visitors to Delta's booth.

Due to global warming, the green energy and green revolution have been taken more seriously in recent years. Celebrating its 10th event, the All-Energy Exhibition is one of the largest exhibitions for the energy industries and the largest convention that specifically focuses on clean and renewable energy in the southern hemisphere. Each year, the event gathers many exhibitors and companies in the energy industry and provides a platform to promote the latest technologies and products such as solar energy, wind energy, tidal power, clean coal, solid carbon, energy efficiency, and others. During the 2-day exhibition, over 240 manufacturers from around the world, along with numerous professionals, experts, and industry visitors from Southeast Asia and Oceania, joined this event.

To meet the needs of local green energy industries and energy-saving manufacturing, Delta presented a wide range of comprehensive and professional green energy products and automatic manufacturing solutions that included:

• Automatic Manufacturing Conveyor Solution: To meet the trend of automated manufacturing, Delta displayed its Automatic Manufacturing Conveyor Solution. The demonstration begins with an operator setting up a rule to eliminate certain dice points via the human machine interface. Using smart sensor detection, the controller controls the speed of the AC motor drives and motors to send a dice precisely to the inspection station through conveyors. After inspection by the machine vision system, the dice are sorted. If the dice's point(s) does not match with the preset elimination rule, the dice will be sent through the inspection station to an outer loop conveyor for repeated operation. If the point(s) matches the elimination rule, the dice will be pushed by the diverter to an inner conveyor to avoid affecting the outer loop.

For controlling, the solution adopts Delta's Compact Modular Mid-range PLC AS300 Series that features a built-in 32-bit CPU and offers a high-performance and precise positioning control function (40k steps / ms) with CANopen and EtherNet/IP network communication for high-speed data transmission. It can effectively control devices such as the Smart Sensor PS Series for object (dice) detection, the Machine Vision System DMV2000 Series for dice point identification, and the Compact Drive MS300 Series for operating conveyors to achieve high-precision and high-speed motion control. In addition, the solution applies the Ethernet Switches DVS Series for data exchange and the Human Machine Interface DOP-100 Series for real-time setting and adjusting the sorting rule to build a highly functional automatic conveyor system. The demonstration successfully presented a comprehensive automatic manufacturing solution that integrates multiple functions such as vision inspection, automatic sorting mechanism, and real-time data monitoring to meet the manufacturing needs of the energy industry. • Green Energy and Storage Devices: Some highlights included the low-noise and energy-efficient DC Ultra-Fast EV Charger, PV Inverters for large-scale solar power arrays and smaller sizes with wall-mounted installation, and the Residential Green Solution that integrates the E5 Hybrid Energy Storage System with BX6.0 battery to provide power during power outages.

• Smart Lighting System: Adopting its building automation technology, Delta presented a Smart Streetlight Solution that combines IoT, monitoring, and management into one system. Multiple lighting products were also displayed for applications such as industrial manufacturing, warehouses, gymnasiums, buildings with high celling design, and more.

Australia is among the most developed countries in the southern hemisphere. With its government's support in developing the renewable energy industry, the country has succeeded in reducing the amount of greenhouse gas emissions over the past few years. Facing rapid development and the multiple needs of the green energy industry in Oceania, Delta continues to fulfill our commitment “Smarter, Greener, Together,” and provide high-performance, energy-saving, and highly integrated products and solutions with our leading technologies and experience in the green energy and industrial automation industries to provide “Automation for a Changing World” to our customers.
