“2018 Smart Lighting Control Application and Innovation Forum” Builds a Communication Platform for DALI Control Development

Delta partnered with Digital Illumination Interface Alliance (DiiA), the organization that promotes the DALI protocol, to host the "2018 Smart Lighting Control Application and Innovation Forum" on November 2nd in Shenzhen, the hub of China's lighting industry. The forum's aim is to develop diversity of lighting designs in China and increase the popularity of smart lighting through promotion of the DALI protocol. The conference attracted more than 120 representatives, including smart lighting control experts, lighting designers, smart building companies, and other enthusiastic participants.

Experts at the conference all pointed out that establishing standards is the key to promoting smart lighting that focuses on inter-connection and control. Dr. Scott Wade, DiiA Technical Manager, pointed out that the DALI-2 version enhances DALI's advantages as a standardization protocol for digital lighting control. DALI-2 ensures the coordinated operation of a variety of products in the lighting control system and their openness during maintenance. Zhao Guochao, Product Director of the Smart Buildings Division at Delta Greentech, shared how Delta's LOYTEC smart lighting control system successfully creates a better user experience and an energy-efficient model for building operation. By utilizing applications such as constant lighting control, special-effect lighting, and scene scheduling under multiple uses, the LOYTEC smart lighting control system can interconnect with BA and a third-party system through its Internet of Things (IoT) structure.

Calvin Wang, Director of Delta's Lighting BU, expressed that the cooperation between Delta Group and DiiA enables lighting consumers and designers in China to enjoy highly advanced and user-friendly smart lighting solutions and products. Through this opportunity, Director Wang extended his invitation to aspiring peers in China to work together, and said he hopes that through such cooperation the effort and operation of the platform will continue.
