Event Review: Delta Showcases High Performance Automation Products and Solutions for the Packaging Industry at FISPAL Exhibition 2018

Delta joined the International Technology Fair for the Food and Beverage Industry (FISPAL 2018) from June 26th to 29th at São Paulo Expo Exhibition & Convention Center in São Paulo, Brazil. During the event, Delta presented a variety of industrial automation products and smart manufacturing solutions. Some highlights included the Delta SCARA Robot Workstation, DIACloud platform, and Racecar simulator with Virtual Reality (VR) head-mounted display and Delta's AC Servo System which attracted many visitors to Delta's booth.

The annual FISPAL Exhibition is one of the largest and best known exhibitions for the food and packaging industries in Latin America. The event focuses on various themes such as packaging and processes, packages, marking and coding, equipment and accessories, automation and logistics, and more. During the 3-day exhibition, over 440 manufacturers and nearly 39,000 experts and professionals attended this event from around the world.

To meet the needs for manufacturing automation for the packaging industry, Delta presented a wide range of industrial automation products and manufacturing solutions that included:

• SCARA Robot Pick-and-place Workstation for candies: To meet the trend of automated manufacturing for the packaging industry, Delta displayed a Pick-and-place Workstation with the SCARA Robot DRS Series. The workstation begins with the Machine Vision System positioning a piece of chocolate on the conveyor. The SCARA Robot then precisely picks up the chocolate and places it into a gift box. Equipped with a 4-axis drive control function, the SCARA Robot DRS Series successfully performs flexible pick-and-place movements at high speed with excellent repeatability, linearity, and verticality, while providing gifts for our guests at the event. In addition, the DRS Series can match various automation products for building a highly integrated workstation, which meets the needs of multi-product production for different applications and industries.

• DIACloud platform: During the exhibition, Delta presented the DIACloud platform that meets the needs of the remote manufacturing monitoring and management requirements of the packaging industry. With the help of the DIACloud platform, users can get access to data and check the status of each piece of equipment online and via mobile devices, achieving real-time maintenance, monitoring, and data collection. Delta also showcased some hardware communication products such as the Ethernet Switches DVS Series, the 3G Cloud Router DX-2100 Series, the Ethernet Cloud Router DX-2300 Series, and the 3G/WAN VPN Router DX-3001 Series. These products can easily connect and exchange data for non-Delta devices and upload it to the DIACloud platform, which rapidly helps our customer integrate old and new equipment and production information. Additionally, when any device is malfunctioning, the system will set off SMS texts and email alarms to managers, enhancing the efficiency of remote monitoring and management.

• Racecar simulator with VR head-mounted display and Delta's AC Servo System: Delta cooperated with a local gaming manufacturer to build a racecar simulator with a VR head-mounted display and Delta's AC Servo System ASDA-B2 Series. It supports 20-bit and 17-bit encoders, which allow high-precision motion control even at low speeds. Combining with the racecar simulator, the ASDA-B2 Series demonstrates a high-speed, high-precision performance through the machine that offers a realistic racecar experience that attracted many visitors to our booth.
