Seeing the Future of Automation – Delta Industrial Automation Launches Brand New SCARA at SPS/IPC/Drives/Nuremberg 2014

Delta Industrial Automation (IA) just showcased its latest automation technologies at SPS/IPC/Drives/Nuremberg 2014 in Germany from November 25~27, which feature major automation solutions, new automation products, and the brand new Selective Compliance Assembly Robot Arm (SCARA).

This year, Delta IA has focused on various automation solutions for different industries based on a complete range of products. The company display included solutions for high-end industrial control, factory automation and energy-saving, process automation, and power quality.

Bringing its latest developments and advances, Delta IA presents new products every year for global visitors at SPS/IPC/Drives/Nuremberg. For 2014, Delta IA highlighted Ethernet industrial communication products, high-end PC-based industrial controllers, a new 15” human machine interface DOP-W Series, power meters, and photoelectric and inductive sensors, which impressed visitors to the stand.

This year the most popular display at Delta's stand was the SCARA DRS40L Series and robot arm control system. The DRS40L Series features an arm length of 400mm and maximum payload capacity of 3kg with high-speed, high precision, excellent linearity and verticality, and compliance control functions. It increases production efficiency and improves production quality and yield rate when used with a machine vision system. The DRS40L Series is perfect for production line applications for the electronics, rubber and plastic, and packaging industries.

Delta IA is also displaying the SCARA solution with a live demo — the Dimensional Pick-and-place Sorting and Feeding System, which performs high precision, high-speed, smart and flexible transferring, stacking, and packing without fixtures. This live demo adopts the DRS40L Series, the new Servo Drive and Robot Controller ASDA-MS Series and the Machine Vision DMV Series. It performs a series of pick-and-place actions: the DMV Series machine vision detects and identifies the positions of six dice placed randomly in a tray, and then transmits the data to the ASDA-MS Series robot controller to control the DRS40L Series SCARA to pick and place the dice to preset positions in order. These actions demonstrate the feeding, sorting, placing and arrangement, insertion and assembly processes for real production line applications.

This Dimensional Pick-and-place Sorting and Feeding System is a remarkable breakthrough for Delta's automation development. It attracted the attention of many visitors and journalists, bringing sales inquiries and business opportunities during the three-day event.

Several European media visited Delta's stand during the tradeshow. After learning about Delta's automation solutions and the SCARA solution, they released reports on Delta's efforts in industrial automation development. This will help increase Delta's brand awareness in local markets.

For the past 19 years, Delta IA has been dedicated to developing automation products and technologies, as well as system integration solutions and smart production. With dedicated effort, Delta hopes to increase production technologies while preserving the environment with high-efficiency, energy-saving products and solutions.
