Delta Industrial Automation Showcases High End Technology and Solutions for a Changing World at Hannover Messe 2014

Delta Group, the leading global provider of power and thermal management solutions, presented a broad spectrum of energy-efficient solutions for integrated automation, industrial visualization & control and power infrastructure applications that adhered to the theme of “Integrated Industry – Next Steps” at this year’s Hannover Messe.

Delta’s Chairman Mr. Yancey Hai, CEO Mr. Ping Cheng and EMEA's President & GM Mr. Jackie Chang led Delta’s team at the exhibition, presenting Delta’s promise of “Smarter. Greener. Together.” with solutions and global success stories featuring energy management systems, green energy, industrial automation, and power systems.

At this year’s Hannover Messe, Delta was one of the biggest Taiwanese exhibitors. With advanced technology and high integration capabilities in the automation industry, Delta attracted more than 400 visitors from over fifty countries during the five-day exhibition.

Various Integrated Automation Solutions for High End Applications

Delta Industrial Automation (IA) displayed motion drive systems, power solutions and industrial communication platforms for manufacturing visualization, factory automation, building automation, and process automation

For manufacturing visualization, Delta IA presented a factory monitoring and control system with the new Intelligent Control Station ICS-2000 series. The ICS-2000 collects the power consumption and operation records of various facilities in factories, analyzes the data and shows it in charts and graphics, and uploads it to a cloud/server and data center for remote management and reference. It helps to realize factory visualization. Delta’s new power meter DPM-530 series for precise power measurement helps users to master real-time power consumption.

For factory and building automation, Delta offered HVAC systems, energy-saving elevator solutions, and an industrial communication platform to enhance energy and communication efficiency. In addition, Delta’s power quality solutions help to reduce harmonics, flicker, reactive power, and unbalanced loads, and regenerate power to improve power usage efficiency and power factor. Delta provides buildings and factories with stable and safe operation under low harmonic interference. During the exhibition, Delta displayed a live demo that adopts Delta’s Active Power Filter AFP2000 Series to perform effective harmonics suppression, and it was one of the most focused on displays at Delta’s stand.

For manufacturing and machine automation, Delta’s Mid-range PLC AH500 Series offers a maximum of 4,352 DIO points / 544 AIO channels, abundant extension modules and flexible structure extension (100m or 2km via fiber) for efficient communication and various facilities control in large scale manufacturing and machinery systems. The AH500 is ideal for real-time control and monitoring of production lines or high-end facilities in factories.

As a complete automation solution provider, Delta also presented industrial solutions for gantry, crane and packaging, along with motion control solutions and advanced machine automation solutions. Among all, the EtherCAT AC Servo Drive ASDA A2-E series possesses the outstanding and high precise motion control functions of the ASDA-A2 series and EtherCAT communication ports. This allows the ASDA A2-E series to meet international communication standards while satisfying global customers.

Delta Shares Energy-saving Achievements and Success Stories at Press Conference

Delta Group announced its latest sustainability milestones at a press conference on April 8th. From 2010 to 2013, Delta’s energy-efficient products and solutions have delivered total savings of 11.9 billion kWh of electricity, which is equal to a reduction of carbon emissions by 6.38 million tons or roughly 3 times the annual carbon footprint of Iceland. In 2013, the electricity intensity of Delta’s operation sites decreased 40.4% (base year: 2009) and the 11 green buildings built by Delta (own plants and donated facilities) contributed to energy savings of 11.63 mn kWh under Energy Use Intensity (EUI) standards. These figures confirm our dedication to sustainability by enabling prime energy conservation.

Chairman Yancey Hai highlighted, “Delta’s corporate mission – To provide innovative, clean and energy-efficient solutions for a better tomorrow – inspired us to become a total solutions provider. As of last year, close to one hundred energy-efficient solutions have been successfully implemented by Delta around the globe in fields such as industrial automation, data centers, renewable energy and green buildings. In general, these solutions deliver up to 20%~40% energy savings to our customers given our core expertise in power electronics”.

Delta EMEA’s President & GM, Jackie Chang, said, “2013 was a year of remarkable success in regards to our ability to cooperate with our partners and customers throughout the entire EMEA region. Delta’s industrial automation solutions were implemented at a plating production line in Turkey, at a shipbuilding factory in the UK, at a biomass plant in Italy and at a packaging plant in The Netherlands; our mission critical infrastructure solutions helped provide reliable backup power to an airport in Poland and to a railway operator in Russia; Delta’s telecom power solutions were successfully installed in Africa; our renewable energy solutions delivered prime energy conversion to solar parks in Germany while our intelligent lighting solutions brought significant energy savings to the facilities of a leading telecom carrier in Spain. Our cutting-edge technology and the strong synergies we have developed with our partners are the pillars to which our long-term growth in the EMEA is cemented”.

Promotion for Delta Industrial Automation by Local Media

On April 10th, Delta Industrial Automation Business Group’s Assistant GM Mr. Andy Liu accepted an interview by ETZ elektrotechnik & automation (ETZ), a well-known and important magazine for the industrial and machinery fields in Germany. During the interview, Mr. Liu shared Delta’s green automation solutions and key products, as well as Delta Industrial Automation’s (IA) success stories and achievements in the EMEA markets. He also gave a brief introduction to Delta IA’s displays at the booth for the ETZ journalist.

ETZ has offices in Germany, the U.S.A., and China (Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong) and offers customers worldwide comprehensive marketing and sales information for the automation and machinery industries via its magazines and on-line reports. During the interview, ETZ showed great interest in Delta IA as a rising star in the global automation field. Delta looks forward to continuing cooperation with ETZ and sharing news of our green automation solutions to industrial markets in Germany and worldwide.
